How did 'that' villager become your 'dreamie'?

Aw, poor Whitney! I don't particularly care for her or the wolves either, but I'm glad she is in a good home now. I admit to hitting a couple of villagers on the head with a net out of frustration. But even when i really despised someone, ahem Gruff, I felt guilty about it. I felt sad and bad and rotten right away. They just look so sad. Although they look pretty cute when they're angry too. XD But mostly, they all seem like little kids too, so on top of being innocent animals, I'd feel like I was hitting a child. Evil!

Anyway, the one I adopted sort of out of pity was Pietro. Although I do love him, I love all the sheep, l love the smug personalities, and I love rainbows. I'm ok with clowns, they don't scare me. But people are really mean about him. So I made a joke of it in my town, and buried a skeleton next to his house. Pietro's revenge. lol. I'm nuts. Otherwise he's super sweet and wonderful.

I stumbled across TBT when looking at more information for New Leaf (I rarely played WW, so I was a Animal Crossing nub) and saw all these siggies with dreamies! I was like, "Maybe I should assemble a list of villagers I want too!"

Pulled up a list of villagers on nookipedia, scrolled like mad, saw Marshal. BAM!!! (no villager-pun intended) insta-obsessed.

Went on a 10 hour hunting spree for him from 2AM to 12PM the next day, and finally got him. Tweeted like 1k tweets about him over the course of the hunting period, effectively doubling the number of tweets on a few month old account. Hue

My number one dreamie, Rasher, doesn't have much of a story to him. I was just browsing the animal crossing wiki for villagers I had never encountered in my years of playing the series and he stood out as appealing because the cranky personality is my favorite and he looks like the epitome of it.

So I was about to put Bunnie 'in boxes' today, but now I'm having second thoughts. First time that happened in my cycling town.

I don't know if I would consider him a dreamie, but, when I started my current town, Croque was there. He was the one I was least excited about. After talking to him for a while, he became my favorite, and I hope he never, ever leaves me.

When I came to this site I didn't know what "dreamies" were but knew what it meant really, I'd already got a "Dreamy" if even not in the name sense. That was Chief -- I just had to have him in my New Leaf game after he'd been my bud in WW and moved out (been after him ever since).

Julian became more of a conscious dreamy after joining this forum and being aware of him, aaah I didn't even know he existed :O I'm a big horse fan, and of myths and such, so it was just perfect (plus really like his house).

And Colton snuck up on me and became bit of a retrospective dreamy aha, I thought he'd be a nice villager to join with Roscoe and Julian, and he's super grown on me my princeling (especially after I got him back into his original shirt). No way would i let him go now aha.

Punchy was always my dreamie ever since the gamecube.
The moment i started the game i got punchy. i fell in love with him... (not literally)
It's kinda sad they didn't return the cherry shirt though.:)

Well Fang was in there early on, from the start even maybe. At first I thought, man he is short tempered, but then he started opening up fast (cause I talked a lot with him, he has an awesome design) and he became nice, almost girly. Its like going to school and the big muscled popular kid turns out to be the sweetest person at the entire school. Instant love and it is Mutual.

Dont ever leave Fang. :)

Last time I saw a topic like this I had nothing to say, but it again came to mind when I adopted Whitney literally moments ago.

I recently decided to make Whitney a 'dreamie' for my second town for an unusual reason: I never particularly cared for wolf villagers or Whitney, but I remember seeing another player (sounded like a grown man) smacking her over the head with a net while fuming and calling her something that starts with 'b' because he despised that villager, and simply for that reason I wanted to adopt her.

Ayyyyyyyy gotta love those shoutouts.

I chose Blanche as a dreamie because I knew I was never going to get Diana. Now that I think about it, Blanche is a much better snooty than Diana. (Her design is so elegant~ *o*)

I bought "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" in August 2013. I started my town Applewin and never reset. My eight original villagers were: 1) Walt (Cranky); 2) Jambette (Normal); 3) Velma (Snooty); 4) Scoot (Jock); 5) Twiggy (Peppy); 6) Keaton (Smug); 7) Shari (Uchi); 8) Drago (Lazy). No. 9 was Hans (Smug). No. 10 was Kidd (Smug).

I did not have Wi-Fi last August. I went a while without Wi-Fi. I newly set myself up again with Wi-Fi last November. And I began membership here at The Bell Tree Forums. (This forum was a wise choice. I've had at least 98-percent positive experience.) In that period, I went through the laborious efforts of whipping Applewin into shape as a viable and harmonious town. I didn't have a focus on the cast of villagers. I did move out Walt, Velma (who I strongly disliked), Keaton, Shari, and Hans. Drago, this past spring, was lost by me in a mistaken TT incident. The rest have been kept. I feel that part of the identity of the town is that Jambette, Scoot, and Twiggy are original to Applewin; that they have a permanent place in the town. Kidd is a sweet soul. I didn't have the heart to let him go. Plus, with finally getting my first Dreamy that was Julian, it further encouraged me to keep Kidd and get more than game copy of "Animal Crossing: New Leaf."

Julian is dazzling. I love his looks. But I also think he's charming, easy-going, and a lot of fun. A non-popular Dreamy of mine was Broffina. One forum member posted a picture of the brassy sense of humor from this chicken; and the words coming from Broffina were believable coming from this Snooty chicken. So, I was given Broffina by a forum member. (I gave that forum member Pompom.)

Julian was based on looks and charms. A spirit to him.

Broffina was based on humor. (I have since transferred her to being my sole snooty in third town Temps. The town of Applewin is, Public Works Projects wise, fully developed. I don't have to be concerned with a balance of Villager Personality Types.)

The rest of my Dreamies, following Julian and Broffina, developed along gradually over a few months. And I've been successful with all of them. There isn't one Dreamy that I have had, and was able to get, who made me regret the feeling and decision. I love, for example, the sweetness of Normals Tia and Merengue and the innocent boys-like Lazy villagers Erik and Zucker. I appreciate them all!

Pietro and Jambette are opposite-sex counterparts. They're derided because of their looks. But, when you get to know them you realize that dismissing them, because of their looks, is grossly unfair. Jambette is a sweet, loyal, mature villager. Pietro is a supportive, kind villager. I'm glad I have them both (Jambette in Applewin; Pietro is Progress).
