How close to the plaza can a villager plot their house?

Does anyone know how many spaces to the south of the event plaza (starting from the cobblestone part) is needed for a villager's house to move in? I'm trying to create plots with paths/patterns and I don't want to make a mistake. Thanks in advance! ^_^

I don't remember off the top of my head, but you can try to build the fountain PWP at various spots near the plaza and if Isabelle allows it, then a house can plot where she allows the fountain to be placed.
