How close can villagers live near rocks? SOLVED c:

Currently plot resetting my Whitney in my main town and the area i want her to move on has a stubborn rock nearby.. just wondering how close can villagers place their house next to rocks? The nearest ive seen was about 2 spaces, but can they move closer? I thinkkkk i heard from somewhere that they can move close, as in no space between the rock and the house.. is this true?

When I had Sprinkle, I believe her house was touching a rock. I remember it annoying me when that rock would be my money rock because I would get way less bells than usual.

My Marina is one space away from a rock, though. That one I can say with 100% certainty.

Pretty sure it would be two spaces. The rock would need one space all around as would the house.

Though that may just be when you are resetting plots..

I can confirm that it's 2 spaces. I have 3 villagers in my town that have a distance of 2 spaces.

Villager houses take up 3x3 space and extra space as well

so around 2 blocks away

Oh i see.. thank you for your replies, i guess i have yet to plot reset Whitney lol, she's 3 spaces from the rock right now so i needed some comfimation >~<

when you had sprinkle, was she one of the first 5 villagers? Also with marina, was she one of your first 5? Because if they are, i dont think whitney can move any closer than 2 spaces..

Like others have said, it's definitely 1 space away..

I had numerous villagers move in one space away from an inconvenient rock in my half-cycle half-Star Fox town

PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED <3 if Whitney chooses to be stubborn, i will just stick to 1-2 spaces ~ i want her to move in as close as possible to the rock because it would be much more convenient as i also have Marshal who will be moving in soon, and the only space left is right next to whitney's house lol.
