How close are you all to finishing it/what is left to do/if you HAVE finished it, when did ya and how long did it take?
I reset my original town and bought a new game cartridge nd it was the besssst decision i ever made, its been almost a year and my town is about 200+ blue roses from being finished until my lazy SOB villagers suggest some pwp?s for me to put in.

Pretty far from finishing it. My playtime for New Leaf has been VERY sporadic; I was addicted for months after launch but just before 2014 arrived I burned out and started playing very sporadically. Villagers moving in and out made me dread coming back as well, which just exasperated the problem.

The punishment free return with the Welcome Amiibo update helped me continue playing for a week or two, but I was lost and didn't have a good concept for my town and I ended up losing interest again...

But with the announcement of AC Switch I was suddenly inspired to go back to New Leaf and with a fresh mind I've got a new concept for my town; a fishing village built around a large winding river.

I've got to do the following:
  1. Rework my paths and walk them enough for them to become dirt
  2. Get Pietro to move out from the middle of one of my paths and then reset until I get a dreamie to move into the right spot
  3. Get dozens of blue and purple roses and pansies
  4. Plant dozens of bushes
  5. Decorate two entire houses and get all the furniture necessary to do so
  6. A bunch of detailing
I'll be lucky to get this all done before the Switch title releases! Wish I played more before, I'd have loved to see how this town would've ended up with some extra months or years of effort.

majority of my towns done, but i just need to move out Felicity and move in some other villagers in two spots, so then there will be four houses in a square, then i have to put down some more flowers and change some other villagers out. other than that i just need to clean my beach of hybrids and items that cant fit in my storage and such. im nearly there ;w;''

The majority in my town is actually already done.
What's left for me to do is that i was thinking about removing a stone bridge from my town.
Since this bridge stands diagonally i can't really make it look good with paths, since it looks a bit off, from the rest what you see in my town, i decided to remove it, and am busy getting cedar saplings, holly shoots, and sweet olive shoots so i can remove the bridge and close the hole it's gonna leave.

Even though i would only have 1 bridge left, i think it still would look great, and if i really need a second bridge, i have just a couple of good places to build my second bridge ( and that is IF i need a second bridge )

My town has the look of a ''regular'' town like you would see in real life.
This is what i went for with my town anyway.

It also have the 4 seasons represented, i have a corner with only cedar saplings and holly shoots.
( this represents winter )

I have this small segment with peach trees, white and pink azalea bushes, and pink lilies.
( this represents spring )

Near the camping grounds and the camping site PWP i have, placed mostly red, yellow and a batch of black flowers.
( this represents autumn/fall )

and pretty much the rest of the town is filled with a lot of bright colors ( well, mostly, there is a batch of black flowers here too )
( and this represents summer )

I'd say I'm probably finished it, just need to leave it at a good date DA wise and the gold StreetPass badge.

I've never finished a town, sadly. Nor have I ever really gotten close. At best I've gotten to maybe 50%, and it wasn't anything amazing.

But I decided that my current town (below) will be my first completed town.

I'm almost finished. A little tweaking on landscaping, but that's pretty much done. In my house, I am still looking for a few items. I'll probably always change things out in my house, either seasonally or just to keep it fresh, much as you would in a RL house.

Lastly, I'm still working on getting some villagers' houses the way I want them. Dizzy and Roald are being a little stubborn.

Well, not at all. Because I'm still starting up my new town. I don't even have paths yet.

If I had to guess, I'd say I'm about 75% finished. I started this town in Oct 2017 and it's come a long way.

I'm still cycling through villagers, trying to decide on a permanent set. I only have one dreamie...my snuggly Grizzly bear, so I'm just trying out a bunch of villagers to find the right fit. So far I have 4 permanent villagers.

Because of the cycling, I still have tons of patterns down for plot resetting.

I have 2 villagers houses that I want to move up one space, so they're currently my targets to cycle out and one is leaving this weekend.

I need one more PWP suggestion. Come on, Paula! Please give me the wisteria trellis!

I'm waiting for my 2nd blue rose to pop. Other than that I have most of the hybrids I need or can breed more easily.

I have a few areas that I'm still playing with landscaping.

Most of the rooms in my house are finished minus a few items. I just created an alt and his house is coming along nicely.

So, I feel pretty good about where I'm at and hoping to get to a good enough place to post a DA soon.

But even when I'm done with my town, there are still plenty more character achievements for me to work on.

I still have a lot to do. My city is a mess, bamboos are growing everywhere, I need to clean it as there are also lots of stuff laying in the ground and I need to finish houses on my 2 characters.

Just started anew a bout a week or so ago. I used to play back on release on the JP version. I posted guides here and everything xD

Stole a bunch of stuff from my old town. Since the announcement of AC switch, I wanted to get back into the groove of things. Bought me a US copy and I'm trying to rework my town again. :D So far so good.

At least I'm in no need of bells again.

Main Town: Mostly done aside from some tweaking. I currently have a Fire Pit with a Log Bench and numerous tree stumps surrounding it as sort of a communal gathering place for my villagers that is placed behind my Town Hall. I am contemplating moving it all in front of the Town Hall building (because it's the only other good spot in my wreck of a map) and laying down some gravestone QR code patterns on the ground so as to have a mini cemetery in the town since it's a horror-themed town. I also plan to make two more characters but I need to figure out where one of them is going to have their house placed. Oh, and my mayor only needs to catch the Salmon and King Salmon to acquire the Golden Fishing Rod.

All-Bird Town: I need to farm Gladys for her Normal Public Works Projects suggestions, then get rid of her and replace her with Julia.

Hybrid Circus/Magic Show Town: I need to farm Uchi Public Works Projects from Muffy, get her to move out, find someone with Drago's amiibo card so that I can adopt him, then scan in a few amiibo cards of my own. Once that's done I can throw in the Roost Caf? and Police Station I've been holding off on (a villager, Chops, currently occupies the spot where I want to put the caf?), make the two other characters I had planned to create, and that'll be that.

Extra Town: I need to adopt June from someone, then scan in a few amiibo villagers and create the fourth and final character in that town.

Aside from that, just general paying off all the home expansions, catching all the bugs and fish, and completing the Museum on the non-mayor characters.

Far from it lol. I keep starting over (not town, but rooms/paths/houses). I'm trying for a new aesthetic in each house; my home, clothing shop, restaurant, and spa. It'll be a long while til I'm anywhere near finished since I'm so picky with everything ;-;

My town is a complete mess rn haha, but I think I could get it cleaned up in a fairly reasonable amount of time if I actually got around to it.

The only things left for me to do for my town is landscaping it. That's the one that is going to take a long while. All houses are done as well as the museum exhibits. At the moment... I'm breeding lots of hybrids since the only flowers I am using for landscaping is purple pansies and blue violets.

I'll never be able to 'finish' my town, as it it shall forever keep changing. I play with special rules that make villagers move out when they ask, and campsite visitors must move in. I also give villagers some control over where they move, so I keep having to build around the buildings every so often.
