I'm in June (almost July) of 2014 and I'd like to get to the present without losing any of my villagers. How can I do this? I don't care if I have to do it slowly, I just want to get back to November 2015.

TT one day at a time (two days is a little risky) and check all your villagers until someone pings asking to move away. Tell them not to move, and then save and quit. After that you can TT as far as you want but you have to do it all in one go. I've done it several times so I can confirm that it works c:

It may take a while, but to safely tt (and this is what I'm doing atm) move up 2 days at a time, and talk to someone until they tell you to go away or that someone is moving out. It's tedious, but it's not all bad. While I tt, I usually breed flowers and stock up on bushes.

~I personally don't like the 'wait until someone pings you' method, because there are so many holes in that plan, for example, the villagers won't ping you if you haven't talked to them for X amount of days, villagers will be wandering around Main Street, etc. ~

I'm glad you mentioned that. While you TT day by day, talk to every villager at least once. And in the event that not all of your villagers are wandering in your town (they're inside their homes, shopping, etc.) Just save, quit, and reload like normal until you've found and checked them all. But yeah, the method I said is the most effective, and loads of people have done it with no consequence.

*sits in corner and pouts* my way is foolproof too >.<

xD It just depends on you. I dont like saving and exiting all the time, and others may not like my way of pressing a ten zillion times while paying attention to the conversation.

Actually TTing two days at a time can and has gone horribly wrong, and almost did for me. But it does depend on what you prefer. They both have pros and cons. My way is quicker but has a lot of saving and quitting, and yours ensures that you don't fall out of friendships with your villagers. Either way works perfectly fine though so take your pick, OP c:

I think you can safely get by from skipping to, 2 or 3 days at a time and making sure to talk to all villagers to see if they plan on leaving any time soon. If they do, then quickly stop them!, xD then continue with the routine and yeah it'll take some time, I hope it works!

i also had a time where i hadn't played for like 4 months and wanted to TT forward. i basically just picked up from the day after the last day i played, and i traveled one day at a time (talking to each villager everyday) until someone mentioned something about a villager moving/a villager pinged me to move. it really shouldn't take more than an hour or two at most, and then you're free to TT however far you like after rejecting their request to move and saving.

basically, go about it however you want, just make sure you deny someone's request to move before TTing :p

Also...if you care about your flowers make sure you have the Beautiful Town ordinance in place for at least a full day before you TT. You won't lose any flowers that way, but you will have a few clovers and weeds and a lovely case of bedhead when you finish TTing.

Personally, what I do works pretty well, so long as I don't get impatient and skip something!

Yes its time consuming, but VERY worth it :)
First make a list of all the thing you want to do in a day. For me the list was something like this:
catch anything I saw, while talking to all the villagers a few times in a row. I ran any errands they wanted
Visit all the shops.
Dig things up,
Retail.
Cafe
, talk to one villager many times, Get at least one ping.
Make sure I watered the flowers I wanted to bloom for the next day. ( I had beautiful ordinance)
Mailed some letters.

I watch what they say, sometimes they will give you hints as to who is thinking of moving away.

Best way to keep your luck as well is to pop the cartridge up when you go to change the time with the settings. Wait till the top screen with wiFi and the tokens to load before putting the game back in. Then load up and enjoy another day of playing :) Talking to the villagers it the key though. The more friendly you are with them though, the higher the chance in moving.

I only welcomed the random move in's once, then they shortly wanted to move after that. They won't move so soon after so many days of them moving in or out either. Its about 2-6 days from what I have seen in game.

Pretty much playing every day fullest works best :) I did what you did, I am about a year and a half behind still! I mostly played in summer though!

I keep track of what days I have played last by looking at my activity log on the DS!

Hope this helps! and happy time traveling :)

@jacey.sunshine I do not suggest taking your game cartridge out while playing, that has no effect on TTing and can very easily corrupt your game unless you mean you change the time from the DS settings and pop the cartridge out when the game isn't loaded up. In which case, go ahead, but it still has no effect on anything.
