How can I get the latest villager to move out — without an amiibo card?

I want to trade June (my latest move-in) for my friend’s Lily. Lily is moving out, so our original plan was for my friend to adopt June, and then for me to (hopefully) find Lily in my empty plot.

Problem is, my plot can’t be empty, since I have to force June out with an amiibo card. Is there a way around this?

That’s a shame! Oh well! I have Lily in New Leaf, so let’s hope she stays there in the meantime.
