I've been browsing different threads here and it seems like everyone is getting/spending so many miles. I can't work out how people are getting so many! Is it time travel? Or do people have some trick to getting lots and lots of miles?

IMO they are kind of easy to get if you like fishing or catching bugs. in first 2 days I did 13k miles just from miles+ options which realy, they are mostly the same catch 5 fish/bugs, specific fish, bug, take a pic of yoursel,f change your clothes etc.

Upgrade your tent to get the miles plus option since some tasks are miles x2. :)

I don't know if you have yet or not, but if you pay off the 5000 mile tent loan, then you get more ways to earn Nook Miles. If you try your best to do as many of the regular Nook Miles and Nook Miles+ that you can, then it really adds up. Fish and bugs are the easiest ones to grind up for sure.

I have the NookMiles+ thing and I've done a few of those tasks. It must take hours to get any substantial amount of miles though!

So much this. The Nook Miles+ are really easy to do and another one will pop up if you finish one. :)

Plus you can earn it from weeding, planting trees, etc.

I kinda feel you get Nook Miles too easy. I can't even go 5 minutes without my Nook Phone pinging. Even got Miles after getting bit by a tarantula!

I do a lot of gathering/fishing, some random stuff just like using your nook phone and also taking pictures/changing with the wardrobe also gives you nook miles

Just by playing? I've also made over 300,000 bells by fishing. I've been playing almost non stop since I got the game thursday night. You get miles for nearly everything you do.

Haven't time traveled either. There is just too much to do. Things started to slow down late last night which is when I started making most of my money. Also cought 4 coelacanths

I really like this system, honestly. With how limited the first few days are, it keeps you occupied and gives a sense of progress, even if the tasks themeselves are basic. I've never spent this much time on basic bug/fish-catching. I usually get bored after 15min or so.

Make sure you're claiming your Nook+ miles right away. When you do, you get a new task added. Wait til you have a Nook+ task for certain things before doing them. For example: DIYs, planting flower seeds, spending bells and Nook miles, etc. You don't always want to do this (like if you need a new tool), but I wait when I can.

During the miles+ bonus tasks. They aren't really hard and are quickly replaced with equally easy/quick ones to complete.
Mostly I just get them doing what I usually would - weeding, catching bugs, fishing, watering, visiting islands, having friends visit, planting flowers, taking pictures, etc.

To some degree time-travel contributed by opening up being able to make the ladder so I could reach more weeds on higher levels. But it's not really necessary to accumulate a ton of miles whatsoever.
