Hiya!

I'm sure there are loads of posts like this one, apologies haha, but I don't come to this part of the forums much so thought I'd add my own.

Just started back up on ACNL, complete reset to keep me going until New Horizons. I was just wondering what themes people have decided on (if any) for their town? I'm thinking a full nature/forest theme for my new one, very rustic and foliage based. Also looking for any reccomendations for furniture sets or pieces for all the house rooms, and the best PWPs to go with it? I know I want a ranch type kitchen, but not sure what I should have for the rest?

And yeah, just wanted to hear what people chose themselves and how they accomplished their dream town :)

Very excited to be starting again. And very impatient for March haha!

Fujimori is a zen/nature themed town with a tea house, a temple, and an onsen. Have all the zen PWPs (or, I will when I build my wooden bridge). My mayor is the daimyo and runs the town. It's very sweet!

Gracey is based off of the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney World (important: not the one at Disneyland! They're different)! Mayor William is the master of the mansion and each room in his house is based off a section of the ride. The alts in that town are all the characters and their respective rooms that I couldn't fit in the house, lol. Not quite sure what the PWPs will be. I think it will mostly be the simple ones you start out with. I'll be relying more on QR codes to get the feel of the ride, not the PWPs.

My town is sort of half-themed. One side of the river is the 'old' part of town with a historic zen theme. The other side of the river is the 'new' part of town where Re-Tail is located and I've turned that part into a residential area with fountains and a bunch of other things I liked that didn't fit the zen theme.

I love the nature/forest theme. Some furniture sets that would work are the cabin set, the green set (especially refurbished dark green), the modern wood set, the alpine set, the patchwork set, and the ranch set. I'd also consider using lots of plants.

For PWPs, the water well, log bench, and fire pit are usually the first ones I think of.

I never have a theme. I just use the items/PWPs that I find pretty and incorporate them. I just wanna be able to walk through town and be happy :) I've never stuck to a theme. I add elements from things I'm a fan of tho, like legend of zelda, avatar last airbender etc

I’m in the process of my town.
I decided on a sweet melancholy themed town. Very gothic, and grungy, but not scary. Everything has a sort of sweet and sad feeling. Mostly I tried to incorporate dark colors in all rooms and I feel like each room has something that needs to be off ( like old scrappy looking). I try to use wallpapers like the old wallpaper/ flooring, the creepy set/ spooky sets. Each character has its own specific color palette as well. I have Grue the mayor (black, brown, red, white), Grey the Doctor ( Pink, grey, white), and Grim the funeral director (Purple, black, brown). I’m using the darker and more rustic pwp to bring the town together. Right now Im working on getting the zen remodels for train. And just any rustic pwp that matches

my town is themed mermaid/fairytale. the color schemes from each go very well together...
even though i mostly focus on making everything pink ;)

I love themed towns! I could never be satisfied with just one town focused on a single theme, so I have three copies of the game.

My most developed town right now has a fairytale/elvish theme with emphasis on nighttime and the moon. I won't be using any modern or town-themed PwPs (such as the Cafe, Police Station, etc).

Another town I'm working on that's fairly new will have a simple, average town 'theme'. I like the idea of just using the default Town Hall/Train Station and setting it up to have the feel of a normal little town. This is the town I would build the Cafe and Police Station in.

A third town I would like to make a medieval/forest theme, probably using the Zen style buildings and some PwP's.

I also use this website to find items! I use it to make catalogs focused on a specific theme, and then add related items to the right catalog as I find them

I admire people who have though out well made towns.. mine is just ..idk maybe a bit nature themed? I put up pwp's I like and have and there is that, mostly in spots where I don't want villager houses aha.

My house is mermaid on the outside and inside is all sorts of themes. I might wanna do proper fairy tale inside at some point for the gold pieces but I dunno yet.

My main town is pretty simple in thought - I love asian cuisine lol and I knew I'd hoard all the items relating. Therefore, my first town is just asian in theme. Not really hard to achieve considering zen pwp's, zen sets, dlc items, etc. As for character's and housing themes; I have one intended to be a temple/garden of sorts, one is a restaurant, one a bath house/inn, and my mayor's a regular home.
As of right now, only two of the houses are really "complete". I'm coming back from a pretty long hiatus so we'll see how I do getting it done. :)

My second town is just really going to be European and modern I suppose in design. Same excuse really...to be able to use the sets, foods, designs I'm hoarding. Haven't really put much together yet in what I want different character housing to be yet. I've mostly just worked on getting the outside designs placed. Might use some pride inspiration and do some rainbow flower assortments in areas.

Third town has always been a cycle/storage town but I've recently reset it with a permanent map/name. So, if I do ever get done with my main two, I think I may go with something dark/nautical in theme. Kinda want an excuse to design something more eerie and utilize black flower assortments. :)
