Hello everyone, as the title says I have a question about a house placement, involving plot resetting.
So, one of my villagers moved out yesterday, and I'm planning to adopt a new one soon (as in, in the coming weeks.) My plan is to plot reset the new villager when I get him/her, and I would like the new house to be placed at the exact spot where the old house was (where my villager who moved out lived).
My question is, is that possible? Or will the game not be able to plot reset the house exactly where the last villager moved out?
I hope that makes sense. :)
(I hope it was okay to create a new thread, I thought as it's a bit of a complicated question, I wouldn't spam the question thread.)

Yep. You can! I have Erik move it and Maple plot her house on his old spot
it may be pretty tricky but I see no reason for it to work

However this was months later tho has he moved out shortly after I started my town ans became mayor (rip as I wanted to keep him)

I wish you good luck tho!

I've had it happen before. Sometimes it takes a while, or they might be just a square or two off from there, but it's definitely something that can happen.

They should be able to plot there unless their are elements there that would hinder them moving there.

Sometimes villagers can live near certain things like bridges and PWP, but sometimes a new villager won't move there because now it's too close (at least in my experience weird things like that happen).

So there shouldn't be any issues with them moving into the same spot, it may take a long time. Some people spend hours if not days trying to get a villager to plot just right.
So, as long as there isn't anything too close to that spot, it should be fine.
I obviously can't see where you want to plot the house, so I can't tell you if it's fine in that way.

if you're lucky, it should go there, but if there is anything in the way to stop it- then no. if you reeeaalllllyy want it there and ti doesn't get placed there automatically, then the only other option is to hack your town. (which can be VERY risky and is difficult to do). I hope it ends up in the spot you want it, though!

I'm willing to spend quite some time plot resetting, so that's not a problem for me.
I haven't built any PWPs in that area, there are only trees which I can hack down, so that won't be a problem either. I'd also be fine with the house being one square away.
As for hacking, I can't do that on my 3DS (which is fine because I never wanted to anyway), but if the house really won't place itself where I want it, I'll try and find another spot.
Thanks to all of you for your answers :)

It can go there yes, but it may take some time to plot reset him into place!

Yes it can happen. I adopted a villager and spent a good tome yesterday cause she wanted to move in the exact spot the other one just moved out of, and i ahted it. My villagers are soo close together and i just wantd peanut to move in the huge empty spot in the middle of my village but she just kept on getting in the last two spots someone move from.

I will say this though, i read on an old thread here that if u get into a pattern of them moving in the same spots over and over, to completely shut off your ds instead of just closing the game. This way it shuld reset it and they will move in diffferent places. I did this quite a few times and it worked, got her close to where i wanted her.

Thank you!
In my 1st town my villagers are very close together which I love, it feels like a little neighbourhood. I want the opposite for my 2nd town.
I knew about that trick actually, but thanks anyway :)
