I’m torn between keeping my house in one of these two locations. So I thought I’d do a quick poll and see what tbt thought was best!

Option A

This is where I always put my house. I specifically looked for a map with the largest peninsula so I could plop my house on it. I love being right by the sea but not on the sand. I’m not big on decorating or having a huge garden so I like that it’s a small little space.

Option B

I like this spot because it’s by the waterfall and it also means walking across the little islands on my map to get to my house. It’s a cute, scenic walk. It feels tucked away in the cliffs and quite cosy.

Which do you prefer?

For reference, here is my map:

My house is on the peninsula and it's kind of odd now that it's the largest size. Even so I like it there BUT if I had another place I might move it. I like the ability to change my mind if I decide on something different. I'd place it in both spots and see whichever is handiest. Moving isn't expensive, only 8,000 bells so it's easy enough to do.

Such a pretty spot on the beach! I can see why you are torn. I found that I much prefer mine near the plaza and/or Nooks Cranny. It saves time because much of the game is selling stuff or requesting stuff.
Instead of using that beach spot for my house, I fixed it up as a seating area.
The other spot backed up to the hillside is where I put my villagers. I like having room for a backyard that I can decorate with items. The villagers don't need a backyard so I opted to cram them together againt the hillside so I have more of the open land for myself to plant stuff.
My grandson decided he wanted his house on the beach. He's cool with that and really likes his there.
Can't wait to hear which site you selected!

Love the first spot but I have to agree with @UpFalls once the house is upgraded I feel it will stick out like a sore thumb with your island's aesthetic. I used to have my house right by the beach but since I moved it beneath a cliff I feel like it fits in way better. I have it on the opposite side of the island to my museum which I think helps balance out my island

I should try to get a picture of my house uploaded sometime as I didn't mention one thing I did was make a path from off the peninsula to the house, and moved the mailbox out by that outside path. Then to the right of the house (mine is also on the left-hand side of the island) I put up a bit of a fence then set a couch and record player out there. I'd imagine when I have time I'll think of something a little better but I also wanted to leave the ocean end of it open in case I wanted to take a dive off of it. It also seems to me some of the outside finishes help it look like it fits better, like I think the rounded corners look better than the sharp corners.

Team B here. I think the way you decorated option B makes it feel more complete. You should definitely build something else on the peninsula though!!!! like a picnic/stargazing area or lighthouse

Thank you for the responses!

A few extra details for context:
1. My house won’t get any bigger. I much prefer the small house so I never upgrade it past this point
2. If my house is in option B then the peninsula will be used as a little outdoor cinema area
3. If my house is in option A then the land that option B is on will be changed to water and the bridge removed

I upgrade my house for the extra storage as much as anything but I also like decorating all the rooms, and to be able to get the plan for the storage shed so I can put stuff away or get something out without having to run all the way home to do it (oh, and all the free make-overs while I'm deciding which I like best). I think the smaller house is so much more aesthetically pleasing though.
