How concerned are you about the originality of the house interiors of your permanent residents?
Do you fill requests for them (bugs, fish) when you know they may display the bug/fish in their house? Or let them buy furniture off of you they may put in their house?
I always fill their requests but am always a little bit in pain when i know they have a chance to display that stupid wharf roach in their house LOL
ever since i accidently gave raymond a bug i've stopped caring about what goes in their houses
however i am picky about what they wear lol
but i won't be selling anymore of my villagers so i'm always gifting them things ♡
I never catch bugs or fish for them, I used to do that all the time in New Leaf and it destroyed their cute little houses. At least Nintendo made it so they don't sound too disappointed when I say no, lol. Would be great if they could make it so they just leave their houses untouched.
I try to give them items that will look good in their homes. If I fill a request for something I don't like, I try to replace it with something else that looks good.
It kind of bugged me at first (no pun intended), but it's such a little thing, I'm trying not to care about it anymore. And it's kind of cool when you know the story or history of how an item got there.
I try to be mindful of their tastes and give them things that they will both enjoy and will compliment their homes. When they ask for bugs and fish I don't mind too much, they rarely ask to be honest so it's not a big deal.
I don't really care about them displaying bugs and fish in their homes (especially the fish; I think the fish tanks look nice in NH lol), and anyways, my villagers tend to move around their furniture a lot :0
I've given Gayle a whole tuna once lol but she's never displayed it in her home ever :'D
I will gift my villagers if it will look good in their homes. One of my biggest gripes is finding something ridiculous like a boardgame on a stove or something. I love giving gifts to them but I like to immerse myseld in my game so I try to maintain some semblance of normalcy in an abnormal world, abnormal in the sense that we live with talking animals. So I gift them some furniture but mostly clothes and fruit and they're happy either way!
I always give them things and let them buy things from me. I like feeling that they have some sort of agency! I don’t gift at random—I do pick items that would look nice in their homes—but I also buy them whatever they’re interested in at the store and let them purchase my sea bass. They’re my friends, not mannequins.
I don't give them anything. I wish they couldn't display bugs and fossils. Maybe they aren't as out of hand about it as in older games. But, if the rumor about Happy Home coming to NH is true and we can fully decorate their houses? I guess it won't matter. If we can change wallpaper and flooring, Erik will be having his NL home back on my island.
Most of the interiors of my villagers homes are really cute so I try to keep them original, when they ask for fish/bugs I say yes but never gave them anything...clothes and umbrellas I'll like to gift but is a pain not knowing for sure if they're going to wear it or they'll just put it in display.
I wish I wasn’t like this but I absolutely can’t let my villagers replace any of their furniture and if I can help it I don’t want them changing outfits either. I can see myself relaxing the latter down the road, but definitely not the furniture interiors.
I never give my villagers bugs or fish if I can avoid it, but I like buying them things if they point it out in Nook's Cranny or if it'll look good in their home. I also give clothing and wreaths for their doors. I try to avoid gifting stuff to villagers I don't plan on keeping since a villager I received once had a wizard hat that was given to them in their wardrobe and that was rough lol
Personally we really love seeing them become more original, it makes them feel much more realistic and adds to the immersion. I love giving them various different clothing and seeing what they'll wear, and it makes me happy seeing them wear custom designs
I am I mix; I fill whatever request because I want my villagers to be happy, but at the same time, I only gift them clothes and furniture that suit them.
I've only given furniture to Bruce because I gave him so many clothing items - and he had no wardrobe or anything - so he started to replace furniture he already had with clothes!
I ALWAYS do their requests and let them buy things off me, as well.
