You get a Nook store model every time you rank up with his point system, see the green machine in Nook's for info, and you get house models by your HRA score. 70k get you the small house model, 100k get you the wide house model, and 150k get you the two-story model.
Yeah, I just got the Nook's Cranny thing today in my Inbox. You get it for every time you advance to the next level in Tom's Point Tracking Machine.
I'm not sure about the miniature houses though, it'd be cool because I could use one of the rooms to make a small model of the town (I wish -.- That'd mean I need tons of little house models, which I don't think exists in the game =p)
