Hosting Parties

Another idea of mine, but I think it'd be cute if you were able to host parties and events that your friends could come to, of course pretty much like visiting someone else's town but making it known and available to any of your friends that want to join.

Here's what I'm thinking: as well as the option for visiting another person's town and inviting people in yours, there could be a third and fourth option to host an event or attend an event. A larger amount of people would be able to come into your town and they know they could just stop by whenever they like. You could post a short description of your event along with the title so people are given the chance to know what it is beforehand.

A way of implementing this could just be that when you open your gates (or whatever it is in the next game) you are able to leave a note saying why you are opening your gates and who is welcome. "Come play!" or "Open for trades" or something. That way people know whether you're actually looking to play or not or you could leave a dress code or something fun like that

Yes! That would be much more convenient. Sometimes my friends have their gates open but I never bother to go because I don't know if they want me there or not

Personally nothing would be more fun to me than having a bunch of friends on my list and actually being able to go to the station when I feel like going to another town just to hang out, and actually being able to see a list of invitations. So cool xD

the ideal way I see this working is: after talking to porter and getting the selection screen when traveling or opening your gates, you'll see a new option that says "host party". when you start a party in your town porter will ask if normal friends or best friends can come. when you start a party, whoever is invited will be notified with a little party popper animation that says "xxx started a party! join now?". selecting yes will teleport you to the train station of that party

the way i see parties working is: if normal multiplayer in eachother's towns is 4 people (bumped up to 5 or more for switch?), parties can hold a bigger amount of people, 10-20, but its limited on what you can do since the game would maybe crash with 20 people lol (island, campsite, and other large areas would be closed off). basically just limitations of some sort im not sure, but you can still shop, talk, explore the main town and do minigames like on the island but for parties only, amiibo festival minigames as example

This is a great idea! I would love to go to friend's towns for parties or just anyone for that fact. I don't travel to other people's towns due to that I don't WiFi very much and I've always wanted to explore other towns. I once did interact with some people a long time ago, but it sure would be nice to go to a party. Maybe even dress up a little for it.
