Horrible Customer Service

I always get lovely customer service in mcdonalds.. always dead friendly in the one I visit.. when I do which isn't often but still

It kind of depends on the individual but having worked in menial places and such I'm not surprised half of them struggle to smile and be positive. It really is glorified slave labor working in some places (working stupid numbers of hours for less than minimum pay is ridiculous tbh)

I can't really pinpoint when I have received bad customer service recently

Probably one of the worst places I've received bad customer service was at Best Buy. We were buying a laptop for a friend and were waiting around for 1 1/2 hours for someone to come over and assist us. 95% of their workers were sitting around chatting with other workers, and when we'd ask someone for help we'd just get a 'yeah, I'll have someone come over and help out shortly' ..and no one ever came for just shy of 2 hours.

We complained saying we've been waiting for a while, and just got a shrug and an insincere apology.

They aren't my ISP/cable provider anymore, but anytime I'd have to call Comcast I essentially braced myself to be on the phone for 5+ hours and talk to approximately ten thousand different people in order to get anything resolved. One of the most notable and hilarious instances of this was when I called because my Internet went out, and after being on the phone for more than two hours all the "tech" managed to do was turn off my cable and do absolutely nothing about the Internet issue. It took another 3 phone calls over the course of six or so hours before I talked to someone who was able to fix both in about five minutes. Comcast, man.

From spending a few years in customer service, this plays both ways.

I've had a few horrible customer service experiences. The one that I recall would be at Dairy Queen, recently. However, I worked at DQ for 3 years - so I could be a little biased. Me and my friend went to go get something to eat - we went up to the till and the guy at the cash registered just stared into space. No response from him, not even a hello, I couldn't tell if he was actually listening or not. We placed our order and sat down - actually we moved to three different tables because all of them were filthy. We ended up taking the napkins and spreading across the table.

Shortly after we went to order some ice cream. We were finishing up when one of the employees said, "We are closed" and pointed us to the door. I know for a fact (the management and owners are the same from when I worked there), they would allow customers to finish eating and we would let them politely know that we are closed and starting to clean up. I didn't dispute anything, I just couldn't believe how poorly treated all the customers were there. Maybe I am just getting old.

Working in customer service, I have had several horrible customers. I was mooned once, for absolutely no reason other than the guy being a ****. I've had people yell at me because they cannot take responsibility and blame me for being the messenger. I've had people question my knowledge because I look young.

Last year my family and I went to Best Buy to get Super Smash Bros Wii U. We bought the game at the cash register and then walked out the door and the alarm was going off but the employees said that we could just go because it was malfunctioning all day. Well, after we got home we realized that they didn't even bother to remove it out of the clear, plastic case which can only be removed by a special device. The store had already closed by the time we got home so we had to wait until the next day.

So we went back to Best Buy the next day and explained what happened. The guy we were talking to was very suspicious of us and kept saying "You know, that's really weird..." and kept repeating that sentence, giving us questioning looks and being rude. He thought we stole the game even though we had the receipt with us??? Anyway, after ten minutes he finally removed the game from the plastic case and then we left. I hope he ended up looking at the security footage from the previous night so that he knew he was wrong.

I GIVE the worst customer service. I work as a shop assistant in WHSmith part time (classy I know) and I don't have a clue where anything is. I normally either say I work in the back so i'm not sure or I genuinely try to help and end up sending an old lady looking for the latest edition of gardeners world to the stand with about 200 movie special 50 shades of grey copies.

still get paid tho

Oh my, this made me laugh.
Poor old lady probably had a high blood pressure

The worst I can think of is how bad the front office people were at the apartment I just moved out of. Their front office is filled with college kids who don't give two sh**s about anyone but themselves. When I moved out and turned my keys into the front office, one of the workers was online reading bad reviews out loud about other complexes. That's just so low-class and it really made him look childish to me.

I also dealt with terrible customer service when I owned a Jeep. I had to take it to a dealer to get the engine replaced and they left me without a car for over a month and when I got it back, it still had problems. I had to take it for an engine light and they said my knock sensors were messed up and you can't just replace one, you have to replace both. We were okay with that. Then I get the car back and not even an hour later, I get the check engine light. We take it back (same day I finally got it back) and it's the same problem. Apparently they only changed ONE knock sensor after charging us for two and explicitly explaining that you have to change both. My dad was so furious we just ended up selling that stupid Jeep to the first person that would give us money for it.

when that happens I just hide on the other side of the shop until they leave
although one time an angry mother with 3 hyperactive kids came and found me and gave me a right mouthful about not sending her in the right direction for the ben 10 magazines.
lucky for me she wasn't very.... careful with her words and she got asked to leave for verbally assaulting me and other members of staff XD

I shouldn't laugh about doing a crap job but lawks was it funny ;)

I can totally speak from both sides of the field seeing as I've worked in customer service positions since I was 15. So I'll start with my experience as an adult, dealing with customer service.

The worst experience I've ever had was when I had a Straight Talk phone, and had to call them to figure out why I was being charged double every month for my service. Not only could I hardly understand them because their accent was so thick and broken, but she told me the reason I was being charged twice was because I had two phones. Um...Two phones, one number????! Eventually it ended with me canceling my service and refusing to open again or pay anything until it was resolved.

On the OTHER side, I've not only worked in retail, but in call centers and grocery stores too. I'm honestly not sure what goes through people's minds or what they expect when they call customer service reps screaming and cussing and saying they'll take their business to "that place over there" instead--Please, if you can't treat another human being, whose job pays them way less and works them way more than it's worth to be screamed at constantly with respect, don't even bother calling in the first place. I never go out and expect to be treated like a queen by other people, and I will never treat others like they're above me either.

Are you an amazing waitress, but you bring me cold food and the chef made the thing wrong? You're still getting a great tip, because you didn't cook my food. Did you stand around gossiping and texting while my food sat in the window for 20 minutes? Not so much.

Are you giving me attitude because you have a headache and your feet hurt and you don't want to be there? I get it. Work sucks. Life's rough. But hey, if my good attitude doesn't at least help you a little bit, expect me to have zero sympathy for when the next person behind me starts calling you out on your actions.

It's all about input/output and mutual respect imo.

The worst was 3 ones.
Here in Spain, sometimes people gives some small amount of money to the people who packed the things you buyed.
Well, one day, theres was 2 teens from 15 or 16,instead of packaging the things, they was playing with them, yes, playing with them, they even broke a egg
So,even through the packaging was bad,we decided to give them some money, and then the guys tell to us:
"ZOMFG,alot of money we have here" "oh god shes gonna get poor"
And my mom its pretty crazy and angry,so,she taked back the money and she says:
"WELL,IF ISNT VERY MUCH MONEY,THEN I TAKE IT BACK AND STFU"
2.Best buy
Before christmas,1 week to be exact,we went to there to see what things we could buy for the cousin and aunts and uncles, suddenly, someone from there sees us like "You better doesnt steal anything",anyways,we didn't care about it,and suddenly, when i was seeing a 3DS game,my phone rings, and when i put my hand in my pocket, shes comes like:"HEY,WHAT ARE U DOING?!"
"Im gonna answer my phone,OK!?""You better not stole anything" and then my mom came and...uggghhhh
3.
McDonald's
When meh girlfriend and me wanted to eat there, suddenly, the one who attended us was a total jerk, first was with his face like "uggghhh",and his "ugh, welcome to McDonald's,what u want"and the guy who was attending us was pretty rude, eventually,we decided we was going to eat to other place
Anyways,i think the 1 and 2,was also caused by my mom anger

I was at an amusement park last week and was standing in line at a Teriyaki Stix stand as I waited to order my food. This didn't happen to me, but I witnessed it happen to the family in front of me. The combos offered at the park included a rice bowl with chicken, extra sauce, and a drink for about $9 a piece. Overpriced, but like I said, it was in an amusement park.

However, the clerk didn't understand that these people wanted drinks with their food, and only gave them the food. The three little kids had already ran off to eat, but when the parents asked where their drinks were, the clerk was just like "oh, you wanted drinks? You'll have to order them separately!" Even when the couple insisted that the combo came with a drink and showed the clerk their receipt, the lady still charged them to buy 5 drinks separately. Drinks costed $3 by themselves.

What made me feel the worst was when I went up to order, got the combo, and the drink was included in the price.

some of my worst customer service experiences were with comcast/xfinity. my family and i were trying to move, and our house sold before it had even gone on the market... we had no house picked out, so we moved into the closest apartment and lived there until the one year agreement ended. while we were there, though, we had to use xfinity cable because our room didn't have any place for a satellite or some similar complication. the receiver had problems that were bad enough to call the guy to come out and replace it at least once a month, but that isn't customer service, that's just the product. when we would call them to talk about the problem, most of the time being something simple like "the receiver won't turn on with the remote or the button", they would have to forward our call around 10 times each time, each call lasting about three hours. after the three hours, the person would just say "i'll send someone over to replace it." and schedule a time for them. they always came hours late if they ever bothered to show up, and when they did, they didn't talk about possible solutions or what could've been the issue, they just replaced it and left. weren't they rated worst customer service like three years in a row or something like that? i have no clue if that's true, it's something i read on facebook haha c: (also ironic because our family friends all work there and they avoid the topic ;w;)

my ISP has the best customer service

they never ever pick up the phone during work hours

and half the time they don't even send out the bill

how do they even operate as a business again?

I'm fairly nervous when ordering food for some odd reason, so any bad experiences make me feel so awful for a long time. I was at Panera, and the menu there is large with small text, so I didn't get to look at everything. They had a BLT with turkey and avocado on it, so I asked for that without the turkey. My body language and voice said I was obviously nervous and awkward. The cashier responded with "So you want a BLT with avocado." It wasn't a question, since she obviously knew what I wanted, and it wasn't for clarification since that was also painfully obvious. I, being my awkward, teenaged self, turned around, quietly said yeah and turned to my friend and her mom. When we sat down my friend and her mom were talking about how rude she was, so it wasn't just me exaggerating.

the kfc got mad we took 2 of those butter packets despite ordering a lot of food and charged us

I saw these group of teens going to a dollar store in the mall. The manager of the store stopped them at the entrance and told them only one of them could go in at a time. Sure they were dressed rather boldly, but that is no excuse for giving poor service. I'm glad when it finally closed down because that wasn't the only time they were being rude.
