Holidays - Do you bother with 'em?

In my first year of playing the game I participated in every holiday. Every bug or fish off, every special day. But now three years in I don't really bother. It's not cause I've obtained all the special prizes given out during these holidays or events, it just because I don't have the enthusiasm to participate any more.

Do you guys still bother with the holidays?

I usually do the bug a fish things, I usually skip some I don't need the items from, like halloween or labor day.

I've done every holiday in game now, probably won't do them anymore just because "been there, done that". I don't need/want the items from them and they get really repetitive imo.

I rarely participate in any of them anymore because I have done them all now. I do go to the fish and bug ceremonies because I like to see my villagers get their awards, lol.

Not really. I did Halloween once because I wanted the items catalogued and I had a creepy cellar before. But yeah Toy Day I never gave a whiff about since dude.. a random pic no thanks and I'm not really in the mood jotting everything down what they want so :| Too much crap.

I don't participate in the bug off or fishing tourney but as I do tt in my second town that's really just a dumping ground where I have the bell boom ordinance I'll play a holiday if I'm in the mood for it, stock up on furniture so I can see when re-tail are paying double for furniture.

I did when I first played... 4 years ago. Now it’s just frustrating. The constant “Toy day is coming up!” And what not. Like ugh.. This is why I TT.

Yes and no. There are some I haven't done yet, so I'll participate. Others (Easter) I've cataloged everything, so there isn't much point in making myself nuts. And some of the others, if I find them to be fun, I'll do them, but again, not going to make myself nuts over it.

If I have time and feel like participating, sure; if I don't have time, not in the mood for it, no. I don't stress out over it either way.

I don't really bother with the fishing tourney or the bug tourney anymore, in my years of playing the game since release. The reason being is that I don't really see a reason to bother with the fishing tourney anymore or the bug tourney, because the reward for taking part isn't too great. I mean other than the satisfaction that you beat your villagers at something.. but it's just a bronze silver or gold trophy which doesn't really go with any of the themes for my house. Ontop of that i've seen the ceremonies about a million times, and i'm not really even interested in the furniture for either of the events. I take part in the bigger events like halloween or christmas.

I'll usually do the April Fool's day once per village to get all the pictures. With access to the island, the bug/fish tourneys are not really a competition. Once I have each gold, what's the point? I have towns in all months and seasons so it's easy to skip a day to avoid the repetition. I could say more but my coffee's getting cold....

Yes, I do! They're just really charming, and I've honestly not played long enough to get bored of them. It does take me a while to get to any holiday if I'm TTing though, since I try to avoid the festivities for practical reasons lol. When that happens, I also don't bother with the small activities either, like fishing, etc.

I never participated in all the holidays on New Leaf. I've yet to participate in the Christmas holiday, Easter, and Thanksgiving, and I've only done Halloween once (never again).

I do still like to participate in Weeding Day because I like the flower furniture and stuff, but that's it.

For some reason I have never done Toy Day after playing for years and years, not even in earlier iterations of the game! This year I'm going to make it a point to do it this year. I also usually play on Halloween, but there are other holidays I've never done, such as Easter or Thanksgiving... I suppose I've just always been busy at those times. I'm not trying to avoid them lol.

i skip the bug/fishing tourneys because i've done them a bunch of times, and i skip Thanksgiving because we don't celebrate here (also I wanna keep the mushrooms as an aesthetic thing lmao). i always do halloween and christmas though!!
