Because of my recent indulgence over RollerCoaster Tycoon and how I made some holiday-themed scenarios (Halloween Fair and Christmas Kingdom), I thought of some ways of making a holiday-themed carnival. Halloween is more popular, but Christmas has a lot more spirit than Halloween. However, there are more than just Halloween and Christmas. What about Thanksgiving? There’s also Easter and Valentine’s Day, and (if you’re in the United States) Independence Day.

Here is a list of what I would envision of rides if we had rides based on holidays. Each list includes:

  • Carousel
  • Ferris Wheel
  • Teacup Ride
  • A walkthrough house
  • A thrill ride
  • A roller coaster
  • A track ride
  • Three carnival games
  • Five food outlets
  • A show
  • Activity Center (where you can make holiday crafts or hear stories)
Halloween:

Halloween events in amusement parks are very popular, and I’m no stranger to it. If I had a Halloween-themed park, this is what I will have:

  • Carousel - Monster-go-round (including ghosts and bats). Scary music is played.
  • Ferris Wheel - Spider Ferris Wheel (including web designs on seats)
  • Teacup Ride - Pumpkin cups around a giant Jack-o-Lantern
  • Walkthrough house - Haunted House
  • Thrill ride - Ghost Ship (similar to Pirate Ship)
  • Roller coaster - The Beast (a steel coaster)
  • Track ride - Graveyard Tours
  • Carnival games - Witch Gallery (Duck Shoot), Halloween Balloons (Balloon Darts), and Skull Pile (Knock the Bottles)
  • Foods - Candied Apples, Milkshakes (strawberry, vanilla, cherry, and raspberry), Hot Dogs, Pumpkin Rolls, and Halloween Cookies
  • A show - Magic Show
Thanksgiving:

Usually, Thanksgiving is ignored because either we still focus on Halloween or we move on to Christmas. An interesting fact is that it’s a little bit of both holidays. What would my Thanksgiving park have?

  • Carousel - Turkey-go-round
  • Ferris Wheel - Resembles a cartwheel as seats look like giant feather seats with a pilgrim hat top
  • Teacup Ride - Food containers surrounded by a giant turkey
  • Walkthrough house - First Thanksgiving room
  • Thrill ride - Mayflower (Pirate Ship)
  • Roller coaster - Turkey Run (a steel coaster)
  • Track ride - Fall Forest
  • Carnival games - Turkey Gallery (Duck Shoot), Turkey Race (Race Tracks), and Cornucopia Game (Ball Toss)
  • Foods - Pumpkin Pies, Turkeys, Stuffing, Cranberries, and Yams
  • A show - Thanksgiving Puppet Show
Christmas:

Christmas has a lot more spirit than Halloween. There’s more to it than Halloween. Let’s see what the park looks like with Christmas-only rides.

  • Carousel - Reindeer-go-round (including sleigh chairs). Christmas music is played.
  • Ferris Wheel - Candy Wheel (peppermint designs with gingerbread seats).
  • Teacup Ride - Christmas Cups
  • Walkthrough house - Holiday Model Home
  • Thrill ride - The Blizzard (a roundup ride)
  • Roller coaster - Sleigh Ride (a wooden coaster)
  • Track ride - North Pole Village
  • Carnival games - Christmas Balloons (Balloon Darts), Snowball Toss (Ball Toss), and Present Capture (Ring Toss)
  • Foods - Ham Sliders, Milkshakes (vanilla, chocolate, and mint), Hot Chocolate, Christmas Cookies, and Gingerbread Cookies
  • A show - Christmas Play
Valentine’s Day:

Even though SpongeBob had a Valentine’s Day Carnival in one of their episodes, you hardly have Valentine’s Day promotions in amusement parks sine they aren’t open in February. You’ll never enjoy these if you give someone a handshake as a Valentine’s gift:

  • Carousel - Pegasus-go-round
  • Ferris Wheel - Rose Wheel
  • Teacup Ride - Chocolate Cups
  • Walkthrough house - Love Gardens
  • Thrill ride - Heart Swinger
  • Roller coaster - Cupid Adventure (a wooden coaster)
  • Track ride - The Date
  • Carnival games - Heart Capture (Archery), Heart Toss (Frog Toss), and Rose Capture (Ring Toss)
  • Foods - Assorted Chocolates, Milkshakes (vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry), Hot Chocolate, Valentine’s Cookies, and Chocolate-dipped Strawberries
  • A show - Love Show
Easter:

The biggest holiday outside Halloween and Christmas is Easter, the holiday for egg hunting. Although it’s not all about the eggs, many Easter decorations is more about bunnies and eggs. What would the Easter park be like?

  • Carousel - Rabbit-go-round (including egg chairs).
  • Ferris Wheel - Egg Wheel (egg designs with candy seats).
  • Teacup Ride - Egg Cups
  • Walkthrough house - Egg Finder
  • Thrill ride - Swirling Eggs (tilt-a-whirl)
  • Roller Coaster - Giant Rabbit (a steel coaster)
  • Track ride - Easter Bunny’s travels
  • Carnival games - Easter Egg Toss (Ball Toss), Egg Shot (Duck Shoot), and Egg Capture (Ring Toss)
  • Foods - Scrambled Egg Sandwiches, Ham Sandwiches, Lamb Ribs, Yams, and Chocolate Eggs
  • A show - Talent Show
Independence Day:

The last one on this list is an American holiday, as it’s to celebrate the Declaration of Independence.

  • Carousel - Eagle-go-round. American songs, including the Civil War song Battle of the Republic, are played.
  • Ferris Wheel - Fireworks Wheel
  • Teacup Ride - American Flag Cups surrounding a giant bottle rocket
  • Walkthrough house - American Model Home
  • Thrill ride - The Firecracker (Thrill Wheel)
  • Roller coaster - American Revolution Ride (a wooden coaster)
  • Track ride - Night Sky Park
  • Carnival games - American Balloons (Balloon Darts), Fireworks (Coin Toss), American Rings (Ring Toss)
  • Foods - Burgers, Hot Dogs, Cake, Ice Cream, and Sodas
  • A show - Fireworks Show
