About three months ago, I promised Sly to someone in TBT. I don't like to TT in my main town, so I told them that it might take a while until Sly asks to move. That member said that they don't mind, and they'll keep a spot open for Sly.

A while ago Sly finally asked to move out. Great! Now I can finally move in my last permanent villager and start building my town.

The problem is, it seems that the member is not that active anymore. The last time they logged in was right before I pmed them that Sly is moving, and they haven't logged in ever since.
I'm not sure if they still want Sly or not, but I'd feel bad if I gave Sly to someone else, and that member still wants him. Especially after the long crazy wait ;_;

At the moment Sly has been in boxes for a week. I play my main town regularly and I'm really itching to let the time flow again. Plus I'm worried that the more I TT, I might accidentally mess up and void Sly.

Should I just give Sly away to someone else, or should I keep TTing and wait until the user come back? x_x

What would you do if you were in my situation? What's the longest time you've been holding a villager for someone?

I actually held a villager for someone once and waited for them to return. I gave up after 2 weeks. I'm not saying that you should wait that long, but I think that 2 weeks may be fair to see if the person returns. Being somebody who has just moved and also lost a close uncle and a mother-in-law recently, many things can cause someone to be unable to be active for a while.

What I would do now first, tho, is contact someone on their Visitor Messages list for someone who seems to be a good friend and PM them and ask if they know what's up.

Otherwise, I'd give about 2 weeks, a final PM, perhaps another day or two, and then give the villager away.

But that's just my 2 cents. :)

*I was in contact but you had to wait on me!* <3 (((HUGS))) still over and over for that!!! I'm loving my Julian! Oh, and that reminds me, I need to get my sig updated.

I would maybe wait one week. That's the amount of time that most shopkeepers give on Re-Tail for customers to pick up their items. I use a one week rule on my own shop as well.

I think you could wait another week if you'd feel bad not giving them Sly. They may have been busy this week but may check in next weekend, for example. If they don't reply after that, you can just give Sly to someone else. I'd also see if they have any other ways to contact them on their profile (like e-mail, tumblr, etc.) since they may check that more often, and I'd PM them a couple more times to ask.

Also, I wouldn't worry that much about accidentally voiding Sly if you're TTing and mess up. At least you were trying, and you can always clean your void by visiting someone with a full town.
