I'm a total hoarder in this game. I just spent the last 2 and a half hours emptying out my museum exhibit rooms. All 4 exhibits were so jam packed with furniture and clothes that my mayor couldn't even walk into them!!!

Do you guys do this too? I feel like sometimes I'll want to use things for decorating in the future... but it felt so good tonight to do some fall cleaning! I also emptied out the majority of my 'A' section in my closet/storage locker!

...My exhibits still have items in them, but they're things that I actually want :)

3 out of 6 rooms in my house are 100% decorated and perfect but my other three have so much work to be done in them I never want to sell anything until I'm sure I don't want it... I still have to tackle the rest of my storage locker!

Thoughts?!

Sell anything you can rebuy with the catalogue. Just keep items that are listed in the catalog as "not buyable," aka event items and DLC. That cuts down on the hoarding a lot.

Honestly, I'm the complete opposite.
My closet is super organized.
Parts of my closet:
A: Stationery, perfect fruit, tools I don't always need, just miscellaneous
B: clothes
C: furniture
I hate having my inventory full, and it's almost always empty except for my tools.
My museum exhibits do have sets in them, just not to the extreme. I sell most of the holiday oriented sets because I know I can get them again next year if I really wanted.
So, I guess I don't relate, but I'm quirky about storage all the same I suppose. :)

I honestly didn't even know what I was getting rid of, basically everything I got from gulliver went. but i saved my fishing/bug series and any cute furniture. but I sold SO much. and thank you for this tip! :)

that's so smart. I wish I was more organized, good for you!!

I consider myself an organized hoarder...

I'm kindave the opposite :x even if an item has some value if I don't need it at the moment and cant forsee a moment in the near future I need it I'll just toss it. This leads to me ending up regretting not having any items when it comes to a time where I need to decorate my house more etc T_T

I'm a hoarder too, but I try to keep it a bit organized. I just can't part with any unorderables that I earn, like the HHA stuff, so I end up with a ton of stuff I don't want but can't part with.

My closet is like this:

A - furniture/wall/floor
B - clothes/plants
C - plants/fruits/rares

We must be twins because I hoard as well! And by hoard I mean hoard. Lol, I've created other characters just I store my items!

To specifiy on my kind of hoarding, like everyone else, I hoard collectible sets and items. I have 1 of every flower/weed, in my museum, as well as the entire island beach set, every seashell, every fortune cookie Nintendo item, the entire birthday set, and entire balloon set. My dresser/locker inventory is also completely full of things I don't use anymore, but always keep around because I might use them one day lol.

i agree, sell the reorderable things, it makes it easier. and making new characters and using them as storage is also pretty good as well.

I'm a massive hoarder...it's a bit embarrassing when somebody comes to visit (rarely). Both beaches are full with unorderable, so is my inventory, so is my museum rooms (all 4). Just can't bear to get rid of these things that I can't just reorder :( I did have a sort out the other day and organised my villager pictures/redecorated my house. Other than knowing where everything is though it hasn't really changed much ;)

Well I'm not a full horde
but do love getting savannah pictures
And one of the room in museum
It's just for unorderables that I'm not gonna use but
Thinking to turn those 4 rooms to the Gracie set
Just to have them
But for now no

But yeah I hord stuff but in a way that organize so I know where it is

Me too, but I do think there are far to many unorderables in this game, you can't sell or it's a struggle to get them back.

I always sell stuff that I can order again, even stuff that I want because all mt storage is filled with bushes, saplings and flowers.

I sell any orderable items but let's be real here, there's still SO many sets and items that are unorderable. I used to have all museum rooms packed with unorderable items and that was after I threw away a lot of rare items/unorderable dlc.

I was a bad hoarder in AC, My museum would be filled with sets and random junk.
I made extra characters just to hold all my things.

I'm in the middle of trying to sort through all of the junk I've hoarded between my 3 characters, and organize my things so I can find them easily.

One thing I've done that's really freed up storage space is using the "save mail" function at the post office to keep rare furniture sets stored in old letters. It's a little more work to access, but it's like having a second storage locker!
