Yes, I bet you are wondering: "What is the highest selling game so far?" Well, let me give you a hint, it didn't have anything to do with Mario, Halo, or Legend Of Zelda. The winner of the highest selling game was WiiSports........
Since the Wii came bundled with WiiSports, it naturally got a lot of sales. About 40.5 million Wiis were sold since it's release. So.....ya.....WiiSports....who would've guessed?

It can be, but remember that Wii Sports isn't package with the Wii in Japan. So I don't think the game has sell as much as the Wii in Japan has.

i just don't think that's a good way to measure high sales... i would have much preferred to buy my wii without wii sports.

if we don't have a choice, how can it be counted as a sale of the game? it's part of the price of the wii package, which isn't offered without the game. they claim the same was true about mario bros. being bundled with the NES system briefly, but i'm sure the game was in high demand even after that stopped (people are still buying it today!)

exactly - people who bought the wii in the US didn't have a choice! so i don't think we can say the game has "sold better" - it's just that 100% of wii-users who bought theirs new happen to own the game by default.

the article SHOULD have said that more households have wii sports than ever had super mario bros., if that's what the real story is. i actually read the original story on yahoo.com and their news is awful.
