HHA Theme Challenge?

So I've finally paid off all mortgages for my house, and Lyle presents me with the HHA Theme Challenge. I look up the themes of which I can choose to go with, and the website keeps telling me to have at least the life necessities (bed, table, dresser, drawers, and chair) "in the same room" which gives points, and so on and so forth.

I'm wondering, does this apply to the entire house? Or just one room?
If just one room, does which room matter?

Any help would be great <3

Each room but the basement counts. You can even use the same furniture series in all five rooms and generate a good score.

can anyone give me some advice too ? i picked the quirky theme and i was able to get the gold roof,exterior but i don't know what else to do get the rest the gold stuff. the main room has quirky stuff and i have my halloween room.

Faery no i meant can take the stuff in the basement and maybe put upstairs in my gorgeous room.

Try full refurbished sets in the same room, that should net you a lot of points.
