Help with villager moving

So... someone told me that Marshal was thinking of moving. I'm not sure when since he refuses to ping, but I'm scared to TT to tomorrow. I know you can stop them by loading up a new character on their moving date before your main, but how to do this?

I'm not sure, but maybe try waiting a little bit, or save and reload the game and then walking up to him again to get him to ping, or maybe walk up to him on another character?

also if it has been a while since you talked to him last (like 1 week+) he won't ping you until after you talk to him again.
