Help with shrub placement ... will these wilt?

Hi

I want to place a line of shrubs along a path but I don't want to waste any as I've had to buy them off here and they aren't cheap!

I have a stupid rock in the way though. I've got a lot in my town and I'm unhappy there is no way to get rid of them. If I plant a shrub next to the rock will it wilt? What about diagonally adjacent to a rock ... so if 0 represents a rock, which of these shrubs 1-5 would wilt ...

Also, if I put a shrub next to a lamp post will that wilt?

Finally, once buried, can I re-dig up a shrub on the first day and replant it, or will that destroy it?

pretty sure the bushes will all wilt beside a rock, also a lamp post as I have tried this myself. if you plant a scrub, re-digging it up will destroy it.

edit - i will also add, you can plant a maximum of 12 plants (if they are touching each other) line, the 13th one will always wilt. pic to show (click)

Bushes can't be planted right next to a rock, cliffside, building, or PWP. They're the same as trees and bamboo in that regard. Only flowers and patterns can be put next to rocks and the above.

If you dig it up, it'll be destroyed.

What everyone else has said is true. Bushes can, however, be planted next to the cobblestone laid around important buildings.

I've been playing for a bit, but have never really used shrubs because this rule still confuses me a bit!
I had 4 or 5 in a row, none of them touching any other shrub or tree aside from the ones in the row, and the last shrub still wilted.

Actually (I found a screenshot!) I stand corrected: I had four in a row, and the last two wilted, which I don't understand. They weren't two close to the cliff, and there wasn't already a row of 12 shrubs or trees. I guess it could have just been a dead spot? I've never encountered one of those before, though.

Rocks require a 1x1 space all around them much like PWP's

Damn I'm going to have to destroy two lamp posts and five shrubs so I can rearrange that part of town. I'd pay anything to move that damn rock.
