Ok, so I've been experiencing problems with my computer, whenever I go on the internet (I use Mozilla Firefox) everything will freeze up. After about one minute it will unfreeze and go back for normal for about 4 more minutes. I ran a scan with Norton 360 and it said that nothing was wrong. I tried getting things like CCleaner but they all cost money, not that I'm saying I am not willing to pay money but are there any free programs that will clear up PC clutter.
The issue might not even be related to that, I came her asking and hoping that one of you has had a similar problem and had it resolved. Any advice is appreciated :D

Also, this might sound noobish or silly but I am pretty bad with computers and programming and what not and I know that there people here that know how to get around when it comes to computers xp

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

that should be a free download.. i dunno.

have you tried re-installing firefox? it might just be a problem with it.. i dunno. unless you're paying for antivirus already, i would fully recommend avast! antivirus, if you haven't already heard of it. of course, if you're already cozy with your current antivirus, there's no need to switch, now.

but.. i dunno. i'd really just say try reinstalling firefox and see what happens. if you've already done that.. i dunno. sorry it's happening, dude.

The download isn't free, once you click "download" it asks you which payment method you prefer -_-
thanks for your advice though, I will try reinstalling it but if that fails I might end up buying the CCleaner..

Download http://www.malwarebytes.org/. This will check if you have any malware on your system. If you do this, the, program will keep a log in your notepad that will save if you like it to.

Get rid of that Norton crap and at least go to a decent free anti-virus. This anti-virus has kept be safe on the computer for years and I'm still using it. Yeah, you can get those hi-tech fancy anti-virus programs that charge you 60 bucks a year when you can find a up-to-date program like this.
www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

You can also use Avast! that can be used as a anti-virus, registry cleaner, cache cleaner, cookies, etc. I really don't use this as much as I used to but it does do its job when it comes to registry cleaning. I'm pretty sure the Anti-Virus is for people who bought or used the illegal method (which I don't advise doing.) and got the program for free.

You can also reinstall FireFox and see if you are having issues.
www.mozilla.com

You can format your computer which I don't really advise unless you are willing to take precious time and back up your hardrive using:
www.carbonite.com
Did I mention that is a free trial?

I'll edit probably Monday. I have a lot of things on my mind that need finished tomorrow as finishing my folder in Government.

Also, what operating system are you using?
