Grass erosion is, by far, my biggest pet peeve of this game. It has annoyed since I got this game way back in Nov. 2013, and it hasn't stopped being a nuisance. When I first got this game I had no idea that grass erosion was a thing, at least in-game. The only AC game I ever actively played was Wild World, and there was no grass erosion in that game. I mean, I understand that grass erosion happens in the real world and that the in-game erosion is meant to reflect that and blah blah blah, but does anyone really like it? Unless you're using the erosion to make paths I really see no reason why anyone would like it; it's not very nice aesthetically. (And really, why does it need to be a thing? The game has talking bipedal talking animals; it wouldn't be so far fetched that the grass wouldn't wear down, I mean really.)
Now to my purpose for this thread: I need advice on how to get rid of the erosion, and how to keep it away. I've seen many threads on various forum sites and I have never seen a straight answer on how to deal with this problem, which leads me to believe that there is no one-way (or any way) to do it.
One of the most common methods I've come across is planting flowers and watering them over the eroded patches of grass, but I've also had people say that that does absolutely nothing. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of it? I've heard that TTing works absolutely but I'm hesitant to do it (don't want to lose any villagers or have anything bad happen to my town), though if someone would have advice on how to successfully TT without losing villagers I would probably try it. I've also heard that placing patterns down on the ground stops the ground from eroding underneath it in the first place, so would putting patterns on dirt repair the damage, or no? I also came across a thread somewhere in which people said that the amount of times you load up your game causes erosion, and if that's true that absolutely SUCKS for me as I am someone that plays everyday. I really wish this game had an option to either toggle the erosion on/off, or better ways to get rid of it, like a fertilizer of some sort (not the existing fertilizer).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
