Help with cycling?

Hey, either I'm blind or I just can't find any good advice on cycling after the Welcome Amiibo update. How does it work now? I can't seem to get it to work, would anyone be so kind to light me on the correct way to do it? I'm turning my other town into a cycling town temporarily.

Sorry if this is something asked regulary, I just came back to the forums after almost a year.

EDIT/ I must add, I can't use amiibo cards or anything like that. Just good ol' cycling.

Cycling without amiibo cards should still work exactly the same way. The only thing that changed is that instead of moving out in 5 days, villagers now give you 10 days as a warning.
So someone pings, you say yes to them moving out, TT to that day, someone can come adopt.
Move another villager in after. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I'm pretty sure cycling is almost 100% the same as before the update if you're not using cards. So yeah, just do it like normal.

I thought so, but no one's in boxes when I do it? That's what confuses me, do I have to go forward more days instead of the 5 before?
