Help with amiibo campers. Possible bug?

Hey everyone,

So I tried moving Norma in via her amiibo card but I got her 'answering machine' instead, and she said something in the manner of "I can't pick up bc I'm moving right now', which I thought was odd. So, instead, I tried scanning Bunnie's card and it worked just fine. Has anyone experienced this before? Is it a bug?

Are these genuine amiibo or custom made ones? Not sure if it has to do with that but I've used multiple genuine amiibo cards and never had this issue.

Custom made :/ I suppose that could be the issue. But it's so odd, though. I've used Marshal's and Bunnie's (also custom made) and both work fine.

My friend had this happen to them yesterday, they tried to move in Limburg via amiibo (a real one, I used to buy the packs of cards) but it said he was packing.

The only thing I could think of is that they had received Limburg from the void from me, since I've moved him out, and he's stuck in their "void queue" that some people mentioned there being a possibility of. Has anyone you've played with voided Norma?

Ugh this is so strange. To answer your question, I couldn't be sure. I know a friend of mine has Norma in his island, but as far as I know Norma is still there bc he has no intention of kicking her out. But how can I be sure with other players? Considering I've traded with lots of them in the last couple of days...

The short answer seems to be, if what's happening to us is the same thing: theyll move in, become a glitched plot, and then you have to invite ANOTHER amiibo to attempt to fix it like the normal plot glitch until nintendo comes out with a patch.

And just to throw this out there, I used real amiibo cards too, I don't think the authenticity is related but wasnt a bad theory tbh

Amiibo cards are just hex saved to an NFC chip. The custom made ones are just cloned, byte for byte. There is no difference between the two.

Hey! Thank you, that's very useful. I wonder if the same thing will happen to me. I haven't had any villagers ASK me to move out. I've only had one move out because Marshal moved in through the camp.

Yeah, it's a pretty weird situation. At this point I feel like we can expect anything to happen with all these glitches. I had no idea the plot glitch went to this extent until it happened to me, I hadn't heard anything about it before.

I'm really hoping the patch will be included with the earth day update or im gonna have to preemptively sell my turnips to somewhere online and then start time traveling to fix the mess if I do end up with a glitched plot x'D lord knows I'm not spending over a week of real time trying to kick out and then reinvite the original amiibo villager with another amiibo villager
