Help, someones not replying to my messages, what should I do with their stuff?!

I replied to a thread about someone wanting a holder for their items. I asked them if they wanted to pick their stuff up and they said they'd be 20 minutes. I told them I could only hold it for another few hours and they haven't replied, even though they were online at the time, and were online for 30 minutes after I messaged them. I'm going to wait until the end of the day for a reply, but if they don't, is it fair to host a giveaway for their stuff? They said they'd reply before the end of the day, but I never got their time zone :/

That's true, I wonder if they're either multi tasking or having wifi trouble. But what if I can't hold them any longer because I don't want them being stolen by people visiting my town?

I'd wait. It's one thing to be holding items for a week and not get a response, but real life things do occur that can keep people from getting online or from playing. You never know, and I'm sure they would appreciate it. In general though, if you can't hold stuff for a day or two, I wouldn't offer at all for time zone issues alone, it would probably make for a messy situation. D:

Btw I have an arranged open gate for my website tonight, so leaving them shut isn't really an option :/

Yeah just wait for them, or move their stuff to the beach if you're having visitors and keep a sharp eye on that area

honestly, if you knew you had this planned you probably shouldn't of even offered to hold the items in the first place

could you temp locker/mail store them though? or just dump in the museum?

I'd just hold it honestly. You don't know if there was an emergency...wednesday I had to go to the hospital so you never know.
Just insist on trading in other people's towns for the meantime or just halt trades (won't hurt to wait a day). Or you could store their stuff in your museum exhibits which is what I did while holding items for someone.

Sorry if people think I'm not holding them, I WILL hold them for him, just annoyed they didn't reply when I know they saw my messages, so I'm pretty sure an emergency didn't come up..

Okay, I will definitely hold their items, thanks for everyone's advice, and please don't think I'm a mean person or was going to give away their items. I'm not, just wanted to see what other people would do in my situation!
