So I recently traded with someone who apparently just voided a villager because I got on my town the next day to see that Soleil moved in, ruining a bunch of flowers and taking up my last spot which I was saving for Bam. -_-

I've been trying everything to get her out but nothing's working. Does anybody have any methods to get unwanted villagers that have worked for various people? I really need to get her out soon. :c

What I do is that I completely ignore them. I talk to them once when they move in, and then NEVER again.

How long does it take for the villager to move if you just keep ignoring them?

What i typically do is introduce myself, the ignore them until another villager in your town mentions they are thinking of moving, then talk to them to get back on speaking terms, then go inside somewhere and keep running by them until they ping to move. If anyone else tries to move stop them c:

This doesn't really have anything to do with it, especially if you don't introduce yourself first. Some people swear by introducing themselves to that villager and then ignoring them, and others say it's best to talk to them a lot... in my own experience, the ones who have pinged me most are villagers I talk to from time to time but am not super close to. It's just random.

The method I use is this: find a date that is a Monday of a week with no events coming up. After a villager asks you to move and you say no, save your game, and set your 3DS clock to that date. Load as your mayor, save, and quit. Go back to your 3DS calendar and change the year to one year later. This time, start the game as a new character. After the train sequence with Rover, check the map to see who's missing. That villager will be the one to ping you next. Quit without saving and set the calendar back one year (so that you're on the exact same date you last played as your mayor). Load the game as your mayor and go talk to the villager who would be missing in the future. If they don't ping you, talk to them 5-6 times, save, quit, reload, and talk to that villager again. Repeat that last step until they ping you or mention moving in the conversation.

If it's someone you want to keep, tell them to stay and immediately save and quit. Set the calendar year forward by one year again, and this time, start as your mayor (nobody will have moved because you denied someone's request when you last played). Save and quit. Set the calendar forward by yet another year and use a new character to check who's missing. Quit without saving, set the calendar back one year, and then use the mayor to talk to the villager who would be moving next (like I explained above).

Keep doing that until it's someone you want to move out.

When it's the villager you want to move out, tell them to go and save and quit. You can now set the calendar back to your original date. Since going back in time by any amount counts as one day forward, make sure to note how many days the villager has to move out and subtract one (so that if the villager said they'd be moving in 5 days, they'll now move in 4 days).

It sounds complicated, but it's a safe method if you don't mess up when you have to start as a new character and it's pretty quick. Let me know if you need help or if you have any questions. :)

I'll try it, thanks. I'm just trying to be really careful because the rest of my villagers are all dreamies and if I lose one of them I would be so upset.

So far that is what's been working for me. I got 5 villagers out that way...

I normally talk to them daily, just to eliminate the possibility that they'll change their minds when you give them the okay to move since you never built up friendship.

I ignore them after I introduce myself but their is no real way to make villagers move out.

Good for you! I'm pretty sure that several people have tested it before and proved that it's random, and that's been my experience too. It's great that you've been lucky but the fact that it worked for you doesn't mean it works for everyone.

I've read that there's no sure way to clear out void villagers...

Yeah, I've been reading that too lately. I think the safest way is just to visit someone who wants that villager until the voided villager moves into their town. Some cyclers might be willing to help.

Don't worry, that method is pretty safe as long as you pay attention to what you're doing. It's the method I've used to move out villagers (and it's usually only one villager I want to move out while keeping all the others) and I've never had any issues. The part about TTing forward by one year as your mayor sounds scary, but in reality, nothing happens because on the last date you played as the mayor you denied a request to move. :) If you have any questions, let me know.

I forgot to say that it's a good idea to have the Beautiful Town ordinance in place, and that even with it, you'll get weeds and bed hair. That doesn't bother me but I don't know if it's a problem for you.
