[Help] New 3DS and AC update

I will get a New 3DS soon and I have a question:
Can I play my cartridge game AC with the New 3DS but I update the cartridge game on my old 3DS...

You need to download the new update on your new 3DS in order to play. Otherwise your cartridge will see you can't run the updated game and prompt you to make a new town!
