sadly yes it is this would have occured if you took the game out while still playing if it was physical and taking the sd/micro sd card if it was digital

no that only has a chance of happening during saving/loading. ive had mine accidentally pop out during regular play and its the same as resetting your game. ive also had it pop out during a save (or maybe a load? the screen was definitely saying "dont take out cartridge") and it didnt corrupt, theres just a chance of it.
