I have many items in my home and I'm running out of storage space too.

Help me organize!

I mainly have rare items.

If it is all stuff you want to keep, I would suggest either creating another character for storage or using the rooms on the 2nd floor of the museum.

I'm using the museum second floor to store my gyroids, nintendo items, etc. I do have a second character, but there isn't much storage space left either.

well u dont really NEED gyroids.
get rid of all the yearly things that youre not using atm, like gracie furniture or new years poppers. see if something is reorderable, if it is, SELL IT.
my storage was full but now i have some space.

Time for a third character, then! Haha. I have three in my town to try and have some semblance of organization.

If you never see yourself using it, get rid of it. Example, the balloon series. Unless you either a) intend on gifting all the items to Pietro or b) using them in a fun carnival/kid room, then sell them. Also, even though this series is unorderable, it's still fairly easy to obtain. Take this into consideration and toss/sell a few things.

I agree with what the people above have said. You should toss out things you know you aren't going to need. StreetPass items are semi-common, plus all you really need is like 20-30 gyroids. Sell the rest of them. Nintendo items, same thing. If you have duplicates, sell them on the Re-Tail board or TBTM.

I get keeping rare and unorderable items, but if you have multiples, throw them out unless you're planning on using them for decoration. Even if you ever change your mind and want multiples of StreetPass items, you can just get them from the TBT Marketplace.

Have you expanded your secondary character's house? You can use it to display sets. You could also create a third character for extra storage space.

I just removed a lot of items. A lot of the Gracie clothing items went into the save mail. Got some letters from retail and wrote what was in them. Put same items in one slot and everything is easy to find.
Use your other players mail to hold the items. Still not enough space you can wrap large items in gift wrap. 48 pieces of wrapped large furniture can be store in one room.
I sold everything that can be ordered again. The mayor has some empty slots and the 3 museum rooms are now decorated in a theme. The last one holds my favorite Gracie tops and bottoms.

Make an extra player to house things that you can't get rid of. Put the streetpass, orderable DLC and clothing in the room.
Make it the streetpass house. A lot of people will be happy that they can buy your items.

- Never hoard anything reorderable ever
- Keep what you only might ever actually use
- Save items in letters
- Make another character
- Giftwrap any items in the museum that take up more than a tile of space (except tables which you can keep out and then also put single space items on and fit more in)

Wow there is a lot of great advice on here. Everything I was going to suggest has already been said.

You should either get rid of the less rare stuff or go to the island and get a lot of bells to make your house bigger to fit everything.

My house is fully expanded already.

I will use the post office for now and sell my reorderable items.

Whenever I notice I'm running out of space, I look at each and every single one of my items and think, "Will I really be using this or needing it in the future?" From there, I decide if I want it or not.
However, if you've done that already and you really need more space, it's probably best to create another character or to just lose your grip on some items u v u
