I just tried to TT back a few hours and somehow I accidentally changed the year to 2013!!!! What do I do???? :(

I thought I time traveled to 7am today, but when I went on I noticed one of my villagers had moved out (the whole reason why I TTed was to keep the game on the 27th so I could give this villager to someone). That's when I new something was up, and I looked at the date and it said Wednesday November 27th. Then I turned it off and reloaded, and Isabelle said the year was 2013.

Other members are free to correct me because I may be wrong, but I think at this point there's nothing you can do since it's already saved and Isabelle is claiming that the date is still 2013. :(

When TTing backwards it counts as ONE day no matter how far back to you go.

When TTing forward the game will play normally. So in your case, you would be TTing one year ahead - which would result in your villagers moving out/new ones moving in... etc. It's not advisable to do this if you want to keep your current town.

Here's an idea. Play the game until someone asks to move out. Deny or allow them. You are then free to TT as far into the future as you like, without anyone moving out. c:

Oh dear... if you don't mind having the year off by 1 i think you should just keep it that way. :/

If you go to the correct year expect a lot of weeds and dead flowers :c If you have perfect town ordinance maybe you can avoid the stinky plant which I can't remember the name of it.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys! I'm glad I have some options, I was really freaking out.

I might try this, thanks!

I may just TT week by week or so, until I get back to November 2014 (which could take a while... But at least maybe I can cycle some villagers to get the rest of my dreamies?)

This is actually the recommended why to make sure you don't lose anymore dreamie villagers. Playing week by week would result in another villager having the possibility of moving out again, so that's why you do it in a one time go.

Villagers move out every 5 days or so, so going week by week would mean that you might have TTd them out and/or miss their move out day entirely. Whenever I'm determined to move out villagers, I'd go 2 days at a time and do the rumor method or ping method. But still, idk whichever you want to do is all in preference and how scared you are to lose specific villagers.

Don't go week by week, that's very risky. Just play the game day by day until someone asks you about moving. Tell them to stay, save, and you can safely set the date back to the present.

If you want to speed up the process, play the game for a few in-game days. If nobody's pinging you naturally, save and quit. Go to your 3DS calendar and set it to over a week later. Start the game as a new character and check the map to see who's missing, and then quit without saving. Set the 3DS calendar back to normal and use your mayor to find the character who would be missing some time later. If they don't ping you, talk to them a few times. If they still don't tell you about moving, save and quit, reload, and go talk to them again. Do that until they do ping you. If nobody was missing in the later map that you saw as the new character, it's because nobody's thinking about moving yet, so just keep going day by day.

I'm not sure how someone moved out of your town. If your game was in 2014, nobody should have moved out when you went back to 2013, unless that villager was already in boxes. Going back any amount of time counts as one day forward, so it would have been like time travelling to tomorrow.

I thought you could only deny them, I'm not sure if you can allow them to move out and still do the same thing...but otherwise, basically this. When I quit, I use this. Before I quit I used this method to make sure none of my ten dreamies left my town.

I stopped a mover before jumping 5 months ahead. All the villagers were there but you might have a mover.
Villagers will ask where you were and than they go back to the normal dialog. I got lucky and got a rumor of a mover after 10 minutes of gameplay. Save/quit and stopped the mover. Found the rest of the villagers I hadn't spoke to yet.
The next day I got a picture after giving Boomer a piece of perfect fruit.
