All of my villagers aren't suggesting even catchphrases - Uchi ones just tell me their favourite magazines have been discontinued, normal ones give me a personality test. It's like they've run out of things to say? When they say these pointless things does it mean they won't give PWPs? I'm on the highest friendship with all of them too.

I agree that 5 minutes isn't quite enough- that's probably why they don't ping you the first time, and only on the second. I usually leave it for 8-10 mins. It is luck dependent, and hopefully you'll hit a streak soon c:

I tried doing it every 10 mins instead of every 5 but still they would only ping every other time, if that.

I don't know how you have your inventory while you are doing this, but if you fill up with flowers, they can't offer to sell you something or buy something from you, giving you a better chance of getting a PWP request.

I do use that method except I fill my inventory with bells. Works the same tho
