I am looking for a new villagers for my Zen Town. It needs to be a cranky villager but I can't decide between Frank or Croque. I like how both of them look. I know that Croque looks more Zenish but I think Frank can too with the right outfit. I am worried about not liking croque, and him being to sour looking and "mean". I have always loved how Frank is a parrot, but I am worried about him looking really bad with the theme. What do you guys think. Which one do you like better.

For a zen theme, I recon your best bet is Croque. Although as a villager in terms of design (clothing and house) I prefer him over Frank any day so I guess I am a little biased. I don't really associate eagles with zen but either way, I am sure you'll make the best of either of them and love them.
Sounds like you want Frank more, but he'd take a lot more editing. You'd have to completely change his outfit and house interior (if you care THAT much about everything matching your theme). His colors are also very loud, whereas Croque's are too but in a more fitting way.
Meanwhile Croque's design and starting outfit works, and most of his interior items work. But god his wallpaper and flooring is so hideous.....
Personally Croque creeps me out, his mustache looks like eyes to me and his eyes look like ears.... But I still voted for him because he does fit what you're going for more.
At the end of the day, most things about a villager can be altered. And you can always try one and swap for the other, if you end up not liking them.

I personally prefer Croque. I think he fits your theme, his house is lovely and I feel like he's an underrated villager. But that's just my own personal preference. You're the one that has to live with him in your town, so if you honestly feel like you would prefer Frank, then go with your gut feeling. Your town should be the way you want it and if you want Frank, then it doesn't matter if he fits the theme perfectly or not.
Personally, I prefer Frank over Croque so normally I would say pick him since it also seems that you like Frank. However, if you really want a villager that fits to the theme, then I would say pick Croque. Overall, if you you like Frank more then you should choose him, even if he may doesn't fit 100% into you theme. After all, it's better when you pick villagers you really like and not because they may fit more to some certain theme. Besides, you could try to change Frank's shirt and house inventory in the way that he fits to your town theme (if this is important to you).

I like Frank much better, but like everyone else has said, Croque would probably be the better choice for a zen themed town. Also, don't be afraid to go with Croque. I find that taking the time to get used to a villager and get to know them, you may find you really like them. I know Croque looks scary and mean, but he may actually be very sweet and kind! Frank might take some work to redesign him, but it's not too bad either. I voted for Frank by the way, just because of preference, but Croque would be the better choice for a zen theme town like I said.
