I personally love Audie so I'd go with her, especially since she's harder to get. Marina's one of the most common villagers you can find on islands so maybe you can try to get her later?

I think so, octopuses seem to be really common on the islands because I think it rolls the chance by species. There are only 3 octopuses so when you roll that species you have a 1 in 3 chance of finding Marina. I've seen her a couple times on islands myself.

Not a 100% on this but maybe because the islands roll species first then villager. Since there’s only three octopi in the game, the likelihood of seeing her in the islands is just higher than most.

I have both Audie and Marina and I can tell you that they're both super sweet and you'll love whichever one you choose.
I'd say choose whichever one you like more aesthetic-wise, either Audie's tropical beach theme or Marina's pink everything. In terms of monetary value, Audie is much more valuable because she doesn't have an amiibo card. She's a lot harder to obtain in-game, if you care about rarity. Congrats on finding her, though!

For me this one is an easy pick with Audie. I'm not a big fan of Marina, and I've seen her countless times while island hopping.
