Nope, only the Legend of Zelda ones, the splatoon ones and the actual animal crossing ones work for acnl. (And the Villager SSB amiibo) Oh, and the new monster hunter ones if you were thinking about them. I think that's them all!

Nope, it's only the AC amiibo (Isabelle winter, Isabelle summer, Digby, Reese, Cyrus, Kapp'n, Timmy and Tommy, Celeste, Blathers, Kicks, Resetti, Tom Nook, K.K., Mabel, Sabel, Lottie), the Zelda amiibo (Toon Link, Link, Ocarina of Time Link, Zelda, Toon Zelda, Wind Waker Toon Link) and the Splatoon amiibo (Callie, Marie, Squidgirl, Squidboy, Squid, color variations of them).

The only Sanrio packs that include all the cards are the ones that have been distributed in EU, the Japanese packs contain two random cards and a sticker, and I don't think they've been released in NA yet. Be careful where you order from if you're buying online, most people have been ordering from game.co.uk but their postage has apparently been very slow and unreliable. If you're in the UK then I would recommend getting them straight from the Nintendo UK site.

Seems like most of the Sanrio cards on eBay are from the Japanese version. If I buy the Japanese cards, will they work on my NA game? If they do work will the character's dialogue be in Japanese or English?
A full set is going for $40.
The only character I really want is ?toile because I'm thinking about finally replacing Marina. She's the last of my original 5 to still be in my town. ?toile is a Normal just like Marina.

Yeah, amiibo aren't region locked so you can buy the cards or figures from anywhere in the world and they will work with your game, and the text will be in English.
$40 seems way too steep for the set of cards though. I know it's hard to get them outside of EU, but I wouldn't encourage scalper prices like that, it's honestly criminal. I'm not sure how much shipping is from game.co.uk, but I reckon it's much cheaper than the majority of eBay listings; the cards themselves are only ?6. I'd recommend looking into it, or maybe asking around here what kind of experience people had with ordering, I know it's slow but it's a far better price to pay than an over-inflated listing by someone trying to make a quick $40 bucks.
