Hedge Recipe post Earth Day

My partner has just got a Switch with New Horizons, however because of the corona-shenanigans the delivery was slightly delayed and he has completely missed Earth Day. One of the allures for him to the game is the ability to make beautiful gardens and outdoor areas, and I would hate for him to not be able to access making his own Hedges. (ofc. I can make him them, but who has time for that really!)

Anyone know if it is completely locked behind Earth Day? Or is there chance it might pop up through other means (e.g. the Nook Miles Redemption with the other walls and fences)?

I honestly have no clue if it's going to come back in some way, but have you tried timetravelling back a day or two to see if the event's still around? That may be your best bet
