Having trouble moving rocks..

Alright, I know how to move rocks, but clearly I'm doing something wrong here...

Is there something in this image that would prevent those 4 patches of sand from spawning a rock? Like I thought maybe the house could, but the bottom right rock wouldnt have spawned either, since its bottom left square is adjacent to the house just fine..
Begging for any expert rock movers to help me figure out this quandary and turn it into a quarry.

I really do think it's the house. The right rock is technically not behind the house, it's one tile to the right, but the other spots are. The safest way would be to move the house until you've got all of your rock spawned there.

Definitely the house. Rocks don't like spawning behind things that block them from view like houses or cliffs. Not exactly sure how many spaces the game counts as being hidden behind something tho. So you might have to move the house somewhere else, then spawn the rocks there, then move the house back.

its crazy if its that far back that it doesnt like, but, i guess I really do have no choice if i want to put it there.. I guess i'll move the house and post here afterwards if it worked/failed. i just hope the rock doesnt decide to spawn in the vacant lot left behind instead of my pre-planned locations (even though i know thats exactly whats going to happen..)

It's technically only 3 tiles behind, the game does that so you don't have rocks spawning where you can't see them... I get that it's annoying but at least there's an easy fix (although expensive)

looks like it worked out, and i got lucky that it didnt spawn where the house was! now for the other 3...

Yay! Good luck with the others, it took me a long time to get to it too because it's quite a process but it's definitely rewarding once done

It’s been almost six days and I can’t get the last rock to spawn where I’ve dug a hole in the photo. Any tips??
There are no other available spots on the island that are uncovered.

There are two cells between the bottom rock and the fence that is out of frame.

i have heard it said that when the rock only has 1 single location to spawn, sometimes it confuses the game somewhat. try removing the fences and replacing those spaces with the stone floor. i cant say for sure it works, just what i heard.

Are you absolutely sure it didn't spawn in an obscure corner somewhere else?
Also, do you have a body of water or a building below the fence? Could be it...

Hey there! Below the spot is a stone path, then a wooden path, then maybe 8 cells down is a house.

Rocks can be such a pain... I've attached a picture that's always useful but from what I've seen your setup is good. Maybe it'll take a couple days? Are you TTing?
I'd suggest trying what has been said above, it can't hurt...

aahhhh this picture would have been useful a week ago oh well. i'll save it for later at least if i decide i dont like where the garden is.

Yeah it helped me a lot but then I couldn't find it again, so I downloaded it last time so now I can have it at all time and share it

Wanna thank you for that image, and while i was probably gonna move the house eventually, you convinced me to do it earlier rather than later! now time to finish the rest of the walls.. and yes, gonna surround it in Bamboo partitions to make it extra neat :3

I spend a full week myself looking for the exact same issue with my rockgarden. there was 1 rock that just would not spawn. but yeah, there was a house in front of it
