Rock Spawn Mystery! (advice appreciated!)

Hey, everyone!

My main question is if rocks truly spawn every day?

A while ago I heard about the fact that you can control rock spawn locations. I instantly started working on this, because it was something that definitely interested me. I won't go too much into detail on how it works for those that hadn't heard of this, but in short, you prevent rocks from spawning elsewhere on the map, only leaving open the location you wish to use.

I heard rumors where people said you could not have more than 3 rocks per quadrant, but heard conflicting rumors with screenshot evidence that you CAN have all rocks in one quadrant. And because of my layout, that was the way I was going, every rock in a single quadrant.


On the image below you see the formation I am going for (I'm trying this Outlander thing, leave me alone! XD), and as you can see on the map, this whole formation resides in a single quadrant.

Now here is where the mystery comes in, rock 1 spawned day 1, the next day I noticed rock 2 had spawned elsewhere because I had an open spot on my map where I had removed a tree the day prior. Day 3: My 2nd rock spawns in the circle. Now we arrive at day 4, nothing. I destroyed all other rocks at this point, these are my only three rocks. I looked around my entire map three times, but no other rock had spawned anywhere. I started to think that maybe you can't have more than three rocks per quadrant.


Until I found this spot, another tree I had removed about a week ago, definitely an open spot where a rock could spawn... but it didn't, no rock spawned here either, and it is definitely an open spot.

As I prove here, by adding another mannequin with a full 9 grid around it:

So no rock spawned in my circle, and even though I forgot ONE spot, in another quadrant, no rock had spawned there either.

After this I looked over my entire map again, TWICE, even moving the camera every step, step by step to literally search behind every Nook and Cranny, no other open spots, no other rocks.

So my question is, does a rock truly spawn every single day, or did I mess something up?

Also, small side note, I do not TT.

BUT i looked at the pinned comment and this is what he said:

"Some people have suggested that you can only have 3 rocks per acre (on the map), but this example has the left 4 rocks in one acre and the right 2 in another. So to potentially avoid wasting any time, I recommend not placing more than 4 rocks in a single acre, just in case "

It could possibly be in what acre your rocks are placed perhaps? Lmk! Cause im planning to do the same on my island

That was the original video I watched, but it doesn't explain my issue. As of now I only have three rocks in that one quadrant, and like I said, I had a spot for a rock in another quadrant but still no rock spawned there. That video doesn't answer that problem.

i am p sure its confirmed rocks do not necessarily spawn every day. particularly if you have 3 rocks you are waiting on to spawn. icve seen mine pop up randomly after like 3? days i think. so just be patient ! it may take a bit

Thank you so much, this is kinda of what I was looking for in replies, I felt the same way before, I wasn't sure if it was just me, I'll definitely wait a day or two still just in case. I am just tired of all these damn mannequins, it's been over a week, haha!

yeah np ! it can feel really worrying when the game doesn't seem to function by the rules it has haha. hopefully it happens soon
