So I've never really saw the point of filling up your town with multiple of your own playable characters, but it seems every other village I've been to has at least 2... what are the perks to doing this? I am trying to plan pathways and such, but that is about the only reason I could see for having another one... anyone wanna shed some light on the benefits for it or personal experiences with it?

A lot of people do it just to store furniture and other items.

Some people do it because they like to role-play. So for example I'd make a female villager in my town and she'd have a really shy personality and she rocks the mayor's socks etc.

Some people share their consoles.

Another 180 storage of space, another house to fill up, path storage, and just to fit an overall theme of the house is what I've seen

i use my side character for path storage, but i've also incorporated him into my town after seeing people with nicely decorated homes of their other characters.

• extra paths if you use them
• extra storage
• more houses to decorate
• more characters! (my favourite part, as i love to plan characters and create stories)

If you want a sexy town with a lot of interlocking patterns, you need multiple player houses to store the patterns.

You can have extra paths extra storage and also you can make them cute or something. Lol

I have 2 characters in town, my mayor and a character for my boyfriend. The boyfriend character carries my paths so I can have my own QRs on my mayor character and his house is also a lovely cafe. :) I also like the different dialogue, both because he's male and not the mayor!

If you want a sexy town

I definitely need to have multiple characters in my second town, seeing that I'm going with a horror themed town, so I need their houses and characters to tell the story

I used my characters for storing paths and having well decorated houses, but I put other uses in them too.

My side character was created because my sister wouldn't let me play with her mayor until she stopped playing. I use her like any other character, not for storing things (though she does have some of the path patterns for my town).

Decorating a house in another theme.
Storage for items.
Player 2 goes to the island and earns the money for the town. Set that player with a birthday that is close to the mayors. She checks the lucky phone and gets the item for the mayor if she need it.
Player 3 has an empty locker for turnips or for perfect fruit.
Harvested the perfect fruit.
Player 2 and 3 get called stump marker or traveler. Mayor plays with the villagers and gets called nice names.
Bonus extra golden watering cans, axes, fishing rods and nets. For Gracie checks it helps. Outfits can be put in the extra players house. All players can get a theme. Player with the easiest theme does the challenge.
Katrina gets out of the event plaza faster. Making it easier for Gracie to show up.

after visiting dream towns a few months after playing the game I use it for storages, paths and it's actually quite nice decorating the rooms in the alt houses.

I use my extra character for storage and patterns, but I also wanted to make his house look like a cabin and surround it with pine trees, to make it a cute little forest in my town.

i have been envious of some of the intricate "sexy" patterns I've seen in other towns.... and maybe I could turn that house into a swank bar/lounge/cafe! I'm definitely contemplating starting this person, as well as it would keep everything interesting and a new aspect I never have done.... I don't know why i had such a stigma for having multiple people...

Other than paths, there's the added inventory space. It's also fun to hear what villagers have to say about your mayor character behind their back. You can also use them to keep villagers from moving on certain spots.

I have multiple characters because they fit my theme and make my town look better with their houses. Some people also have them so they can make their houses public buildings, like restaurants or schools.

I have two extra characters. One I use to store a bunch of bush starts and patterns. I also plan on making his house into a library/cafe. The other character I use for additional paths and I plan on making her house a bathhouse.

So basically, they are there for storage, paths, additional themed buildings and cuteness :3

I do it for the extra paths & I get to decorate moar houses

one thing I hate though is when villagers come up to me like "Have you met PatternMule? She seems like such a new face."
bruh I am PatternMule you're talking crap to my face buddy
