when an animal comes and visits your place can you finish the visit as you please or it's better to wait until the animal decides to leave?
anyone knows if it effects the present the next day?

You talk to the villager few times on EVERY ROOM in your house. They will eventually come to the conclusion that they must leave.
If you leave your house before they do, they will not give you a present I think.

But if you’re best friends with a villager, and they visit your house without notice, you keep talking to them in the same room and wait for a while until they decide to leave. There is an instance when they visit and you’re not in the main room of your house. They will wonder where you are and if you dont go to the room for quite a while, they will automatically leave.
The same rule applies, they will not give you a present if you leave before them.

So it?s just about the present?
Also I think you don?t have to do anything. When I get a visitor or someone asks me to see my house, i just put the DS aside and stand in the corner for a few minutes untill they say that they should probably go.^^

in my experience it's faster to take them to every room in your house, talk to them once per room, and then they ask you to leave after. any time i try to just let them do whatever, they stay!! LOL like get out of my house, friend!

when they come and visit, i typically talk to them until they give me the present (usually it's like a fruit or something) and then immediately after, they ask to leave.

iirc it's better to wait for them to leave on their own accord because it plays that request tune.

as for the other way round- is there a recommended/specific amount of time you should stay before leaving a villagers house? i always feel bad when i leave and they seem shocked, but i think that might just be the case no matter how long you've been at their house for x)

I?m wondering about that too. I tried to talk to them a couple of times and stayed about 3 min but they still said the same thing...it always makes me feel guilty.

OP asked about the present so my answer is this.
Also, villagers would directly ask you if it’s okay for them to look at EVERY ROOM in your house.

Sometimes the villager doesnt leave until I talk to them. Talking to them would increase the chances of them leaving early; as long as you dont talk to them much, they will stay longer.

i usually talk to them until they try to offer something in their house (even if i don't want to buy something), and then i leave. i'm unsure as to whether or not this is important to the friendship levels though!
