Have you guys saved up a spot on your island that you don't want to develop just in case some new shops or amenities get patched in?

In my case, I cannot stand seeing empty space, so for the time being, most of my island is developed. However, I do hope to see more storefronts, so I already have an idea of what areas on my island would be demolished to make room.

I do, but it wasn't intentional. It just happened that way when I made my shopping area. I have made it a little picnic area right now, but I plan to move that if/when we get new buildings.

I spaced out my downtown area so that it doesn't look empty but still has plenty of space for new buildings if/when they add them to the game. And I have a few underdeveloped areas near my beach that I'm willing to trade for potential new buildings that aren't shops It'll be great if they bring over a lot of the buildings from previous games but I hope they add new buildings too!

My island has quite a few little parks with a fountain, flower beds, benches etc...I could always use one of those areas for a new shop if it came to it.

I have a corner for Brewsters. Currently the museum is there because I'm not quite sure where to put that, but it's the perfect place to have a nice sitting area outside as well.

I put a coffee shop to mark a place for The Roost, next to my museum. Not a building, but I also have an empty farm for a vegetables update.

I’ve been creating neighborhoods for houses and such, and will probably use the spaces that aren’t occupied by homes for other buildings. I don’t have specific slots for individual buildings set out, but I have a rough idea of currently open areas where I want more commercial stuff down the road.

I’ve been taking the landscaping process very slowly, and I still haven’t decided what to do about moving some of my existing structures around. I’m trying to let them come out with as many updates as possible before getting super attached to to my layout, but the gradual update model is making things difficult. Right now I’m growing flowers all the place in patches, and it looks really messy.
