I'm just wondering how many of you actually have a theme for their town. Obviously there's the modern, fairy-tale and zen theme. But there's also different themes people come up with themselves.

Do you have a theme? Or do you just do what you like without really having one big theme?

I'm working towards a fairy-tale themed town, but I also want different things than just the fairy-tale themed benches, clocks and the other stuff.

I'm very curious to hear what your vision is for your town(s)!

Forest themed lotsa trees, mushrooms & clovers

I put whatever I like in my town. I have a Zen area in one section, modern in another, and some of it might be rustic too. I think it looks good despite being spontaneous.

Well I didn't start too long ago, but I'd like my town to be fairytale themed. I found some cool QR codes for Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle items, so I really want to use those when Sable lets me use her sewing machine!

Not a paticular theme yet. I do know that I'm fond of the fairy tale and zen type public work projects, so I'll be incorporating a lot of those into my town as I get them unlocked. I don't have any clear goal for the end result but I'll do my best to create a pleasant beautiful town!

Mine is themed after Starfall from A Song of Ice and Fire ^^ I'm working on covering the town with purple and white roses (their house colors are purple and white) and I've already got it covered in normal purple and white flowers. My house is purple and white, my paths are purple and white (bibi's grey antique tile modified to be purple) and my town flag is their sigil. Even my town theme is the Game of Thrones theme ^^ I've worked really hard on it!

I think it helps the town look better to have a theme or at least some sort of concept. Originally I wanted the name Sunspear and a Sunspear/Dorne themed town but for some reason it wouldn't accept the name, I don't remember why. I might have even just decided against it.. it's been so long xD

im doing forest/nature whatevers. feels more like ac than fairy tale or zen.

I don't have a theme. There's a look I was going to go for, but I'm pretty relaxed about it. I don't mind not sticking to it if it would make my town look nicer (to me). I don't always choose PWPs or villager houses based on it. I'd say that the biggest theme is having a town that I enjoy playing in.

I have a food and flowers theme for my main town, my second town is just random, it doesn't have a theme

I kinda have a zen theme going, more because I liked the look of the buildings over the others but my police station is the modern one and as for the rest of my PWPs I really flew by the seat of my pants :p When I first started I thought if a villager suggested something that meant I needed to put it in town, not sure when I realized that wasn't the case, might have been when someone asked for something I really didn't want to put in :p but overall I'm happy with how Snuhvil came together ^_^

Yorkwood is my most strongly themed town. Everything is Halloween.

Wayfield is just vaguely based off my grandparents farm and the small town they used to live in. I tried to make everything feel cozy.

Maplerow I just kind of did whatever before, but now I'm working on making it a bit more modern. It was supposed to be based off the city I live in, but I didn't feel like I did a good job at that. I'm aiming for a mix of modern and cozy, as the city's architecture is a mix of old buildings that have been around for ages and big, new modern buildings.

I went with 'sort of'. I never intended my town to have a theme, but it kind of ended up with a tropical/zen feel, which I now absolutely love! It's very laid back and relaxing, but also bright and colourful.

My patterns and paths are based on the World That Never Was from Kingdom Hearts. My houses are kind of random though. One is mostly zen/ harmonious and the other house has lots of things like spooky, creepy, space, and modern sets. I'd like to redo my houses a bit, but they probably still wouldn't match my town theme. lol

AH! That is so cute. After all, that's what it's all about right! Making your town look the way YOU like it, with or without a theme :)

Thank you so much! Sometimes I feel a bit weird that I don't have a strict theme and just want something that's fun, so it's good to hear that. :D
