I apologize if this thread already exists! :)

I bought two life rings from an island I visited one night thinking that I would be able to sit on them like little chairs... But no, you can't sit on them. :( I looked them up on the internet before purchasing them, but I didn't see much so I decided to give it a try, but they just sort of lay there hahaha you can't sit on them! :o
It wasn't all bad though, I gave one to Zucker and he put it in his house, where it looks really cute! :)

the butterfly machine sounds way cuter than it is...,..

i don't remember any others atm but yye there are a few of those tbh that sound better than (or at lest different from) what they are

The bamboo grass. I love how the item's concept is based on a real holiday, I love how it's a Japan-exclusive item and I love all of the little messages you can get from interacting it. What I find disappointing is the way it looks. Because of its colours, I can't ever find a nice place for it without it sticking out like a sore thumb. I hope to use it again some day, but for now, I'm just keeping it in storage.

Yes, the telescope from pascal was a bit of a let down for me. Also the 7/11 set. I thought they could have at least made it a little bit interactive :( same with the sweets set, although wasn't really disappointed in that as I wasn't expecting anything from it. But 7/11 I thought at least you would be able to open the till or something. The campus set is another one, I just didn't like how it looked as much as I thought I was going to :(

I remember being let down by the Star Projector. I thought that you could turn it on, and faint beams of light would come out of it, kind of like lots of small search lights beaming out of the item.

I guess I'm also a little sad that the Flat-screen TV can't be hung on the wall like in Home Designer.

Oh yeah, SO many items just.. don't work for me, or aren't at all what I expected. Too many to list. I really dislike how few of the furniture set pieces can have things put on top. I want to store stuff on top of my stuff, not find random empty spaces for the stuff that could've sat on desks etc.

I remember i thought my character would look
Super cute if i had the little crown amd a peach outfit
Since i heard you could get the peach umbrella didnt see it till the fortune,
That- i was disappointed about I love the unoringal
Shape of the umbrella, i hated how small it was , it didnt
Even cover your head or anything. It didnt look right
With the dress design qr and everything. It just seemed awkward to me.

This woman had that experience with the server: http://www.awkwardzombie.com/index.php?page=0&comic=102813

Usually with me it is clothes. I don't remember specific examples but there have been quite a few items which had fancy complicated patterns which looked awesome on the store shelf, but when I wore them they didn't look any good. Too fussy and over-complicated and distracting. I find my character tends to look best in the clothes which have simple patterns and no more than two colours.

Wait, I remembered a specific example, the coin headpiece. I loved it, but it just didn't look good with anything my character wore.

I was let down by the Weeding Day series. Even though you can customize some of it. It would be nice to have the color option of a rainbow or pastel colors.

Egg Basket. I wanted to put it on a table in my upstairs room, but you can't.

I also was disappointed with the counter from the 7/11 set; I thought you'd be able to put an item on the space that wasn't occupied with the cash register, but nope.

As said above I was convinced the star projector would actually work when I got it. So much for my planetarium.

Also the editor's desk. It's my favourite desk in the game and I was really disappointed that I couldn't put a laptop on it.

Like someone else said, the kitchen island. After all the work it takes to get this item it would be nice if I could at least put a toaster or jar of pickles on it. Nope. Just sits there taking up space.

i always hated the astro series colors and even the ones given when customized. i wanna make it like pastel pink or something

I was disappointed with the Kitchen Island. I tried to put items on it but it's not possible.

I thought that you could put things on it too! I was definitely disappointed, but I still think that it's really cute and have it in my kitchen! :)

This was one of the first items I got in New Leaf (I think that Wendy gave it to me when I did a chore for her!) and I was expecting it to be smaller and I also thought that it would turn on.. but it just kind of sits there. :(
Maybe they'll make something in the next game that will make up for it! :)

I think that the sweets set is pretty cute, but I have been disappointed with the wallpaper for the longest time! I personally think that it doesn't match well and feel like it could have been a lot cuter than it is. Also, just out of curiosity, did you have any ideas for how it (the sweets set) could be interactive? I never thought about that before. :)

When I got one from my mom in a previous town, I was like "Aww, I'm going to have a bunch of butterflies as pets! <3", I wasn't very pleased to find out it was some workout equipment... :(
