Have you chosen a villager solely based on their house exterior?

I have a friend who's choosing villagers this way, and I was interested if people who love to theme their islands are doing the same or getting their dreamies instead.
Some villagers have such nice houses, but are not really popular...

Haha I like the idea! I've thought of doing that, now that I have 10 villagers I'll start moving out the ones I don't like too much and it might come into play for the next ones.
Haven't done it yet, but Julia was my one dreamy and I have to admit the fact that her house is super cute definitely made me want her even more!

I really wish we could somehow build them the exterior of the houses, and have them move in, similar to how we furnish the first houses. Same for wallpaper/flooring!

I actually did that for one of my NL towns, simply because the houses in that game were...interesting to say the least lol

I refuse to have a villager that lives in a dump. Even if I like them. (Sorry Kyle, I hope you have a better house in NH than you did in NL.)

Thankfully, the exteriors of who I plan to amiibo in when I start my island next week, all have decent exteriors.

Aesthetics matter.

So, bring back bushes, Nintendo.

I haven’t ever done it deliberately but I’m lucky that most of my dreamies and permanent villagers have exteriors that fit into my theme!

nope never, tho if i dont like someone AND they have a house exterior that i dont like, then i might prioritize moving them out before others.

I remember Papi and Static’s NL houses and I cringe. They’re both cute villagers but both have horrible horrible house exteriors. Those shanty things. I’m glad they’re gone now. Well, I don’t have villagers with unsightly or ugly exteriors but most are boring, to be honest. But I love them so I don’t know, really. Sometimes I see other people’s islands and some houses look so cool but I don’t particularly like the villagers who own them so I guess I’d stick with my boring island.

I had no idea different villagers have different house exteriors (which frankly makes me feel foolish lol), but now that I know, I definitely WILL be choosing my villagers this way. I only hope Muffy's house looks as purple, gothic, and haunted as I want it to be lol.
