Have never had a public works project suggested by a villager

Hi

I'm hoping to get some advice. I've so far completed 7 public works projects but I've run out of things I want to build that are available by default.

So far I've never once had a villager suggest a project. Not a single thing. I'm beginning to wonder if there is a bug or problem. I play and speak to them everyday. I mail them gifts several times a week. I always do what they ask me to do.

Things I've tried include going in the sea and getting stung by a jellyfish. I've also filled my pockets with flowers to stop them requesting things I've got on me.

I'm getting really frustrated as I want to build things and make my town look nice. Has anyone heard of this before?

This is unfortunate, idk if it's really bad luck or a glitch. You've had your town for little under a month right? I'd just give it more time, keep doing the jelly fish trick. It can take multiple tries before getting a ping. My villagers went months without requesting anything, just a matter of luck & tons of patience.

I've only had the sandbox requested by Bob, but I haven't done the jellyfish trick in a while. Just keep trying, hopefully someone will suggest something.

I feel like some days they just don't want to request things.

Also you've probably already done this, but make sure that all construction in your town is complete and make sure you've done the opening ceremony for them.

Try the PwP trick. you can find it on the threads I've created, it's somewhere near the top.

I usually get a PWP request each day because I swim for a scallop to give to Pascal. This takes me 10-15 minutes at the minimum. If you stay out of sight for about 10-ish minutes (the far corner of your town ocean), whoever sees you first usually will ping about a PWP. This is when you want to have flowers only on you, as little money as possible, and even still it could take a few tries.

Okay I spent three hours trying the water / reset trick today. I filled my pockets with bells, swam out and sat in the water for five minutes and then ran back to get a villager ping.

In total I had 31 "pings" and still not a single PWP request. I've had countless new nicknames, catchphrases and greetings though.

I am seriously getting worried I have some sort of bug that is stopping me getting requests. I have 9 villagers and have 7 completed projects. While I was doing this test there were none in progress and I had done the celebrations for the last one.

Any suggestions? I can't reset, I love my town.

Start a project, and then do the diving trick. I find this gives me more pings.

Okay, started a new project.

Went out into the sea for five minutes, back to town for a ping (x5 times) ... I've had:

1. New greeting
2. New nickname
3. Odd question about a song and the space you need in your heart
4. New catchphrase
5. New nickname

Still no PWP request. That's 36 animal "pings" today. My town is coming up to a month old and I've still NEVER had a PWP project suggested apart from the museum second floor by Blathers and the dream suite by Isabelle.

I'm worried there is a serious bug or something as this can't be right can it?

Also, if Bones suggests a new nickname for me again I'm going to ignore him until he moves out.

Just did it again ... Bianca got a new greeting.

I just don't know what to do, I really want to build some PWP or do things to my town. I hate that this is so random and don't understand why in almost a month I've had zero requests. I'm just really worried there is a bug.

The diving trick never got me a PWP. Instead, I would go in and out of houses or close my 3DS. Also, I filled my pockets with flowers as you did, removed all bells and tools from my pockets, including anything stuffed in my envelopes (villagers see those, too). I have been getting a PWP request every day.

Are you sure someone isn't waiting to request you a project such as Isabelle in town hall for dream suite and blathers in museam for expantion or cafe? I know you been on it a month but tortimer still not a dock waiting to talk to you?

Or if you have perfect town rating isabelle might be waiting to tell you and give you the clock project.

I know some sound silly but i find if a character is waiting to request something others wont request projects

Well finally after another three attempts I have my first PWP request!

A scarecrow ...

Not sure I'll build it but at least I'm not worried about the game being bugged now.
