Hello, all. My main home is currently being slowly converted in to a hunted or occultist sort of house. It is very much a work in project but I would like to list some ideas I have implemented or are still implementing. Along with that, I would appreciate your input in coming up with other ideas for the rooms, furniture, and music. Here is what I have so far:

The main room is filled with creepy and rococo furniture. This seems a bit hokey, but it is a room in progress and is the best I have going right now. I sort of want to design it as a main hall. I don't want it to be imposing or seem like just a room with furniture, but rather set the tone for the rest of the house while being a main room in its own right. For the music, I have a music box of K.K. Sonata. I feel it sets the mood very well.

The room against the far back wall will be a bedroom. This room will hold things such as the rococo bed, dresser, etc. and will hopefully tell some kind of creepy story, having another music box playing maybe something like Steep Hill (prepare for a lot of music boxes as I feel it adds a lot to the creepiness).

The left room is just a Japanese-esque room that I use for storage. Looking for all and any ideas for this room.

Also looking for basement ideas. Right now, it is just a gaming room.

The room on the right is one of my favorites. I have designed it to look like a ballroom, which paper and flooring I can't remember, while playing K.K. Waltz. In the room are my mannequins, facing each other in sets of two and dressed in masquerade clothing. I could use some extra tips for clothing that works best with them, but the obvious theme of this room is that the dead, or at least faceless people, are waltzing amongst the living, while masquerading about as such.

Finally, the room upstairs has not been modified to my own design yet, but it will be one of the stronger pieces. I was thinking of having the room serve as a small sort of chapel for an occult. I have two valiant statues (fakes) that I will be using to face each other near the back of the room. Between them, I am hoping to have some sort of altar but I don't know what item would look best. On the walls, I will have custom-colored stained glass windows in an organized fashion.

So, what do you guys think? What items or ideas could I use to make my house my dream home? What do you think about my current ideas thus so far?

You should include a dream address so we can go check out what you have now and get a feel for your house. :)

I will be doing that later down the line, sadly! I haven't uploaded my dream address yet and I am at school at the moment! But I will be sure to do that later tonight if anyone wants to take a look. I apologize in advanced for how unfinished it is. Only two rooms have actually been seriously started at the moment. ^-^;

Alrighty! I will upload it later tonight, then. So, does anyone have any ideas, criticism, tips on furniture or placement? People on this site have such a vast knowledge that I could get a much better gauge on what ideas are available than if I merely looked up a list of furniture and their pictures. Not only that, but people here are always kind enough to help out if these things are hard to come by. ^-^ Such nice people.

I made a creepy basement. Got as many creepy stones as I could and they live in the basement of my house. All those villagers who "moved away" you know, never really left.

Ooh, I like it! I, for some odd reason or another, didn't think to put graves in my basement! That is a great idea. Though, I am not sure if I will go with the creepy stones merely because some of the creepy set is a little corny sometimes. Maybe I will make a pattern that makes it look like the ground has freshly been dug up in some parts. Then, I will maybe drop a pile of skeleton bones like an unburied corpse.

On a small tangent deviating slightly from the main idea of my house, it could be lovely to have a room dedicated to Corpse Party. It would be simple, too. All I would need are some desks, a flooring or pattern that makes the floorboards look rotten and torn up, a chalkboard, and another aforementioned pile of bones. Usually these pile of bones are where you pull the nametags off of dead students. Additionally, I could drop some stationary for a left behind note.

You could do some creepy ruins/temple for your basement. The mouth of truth, ancient statue, moai statue, tribal mask, creepy skeletons, and tiki torches/beacon fires would be around that theme. I think it's good to stray from the typical grotesque/horror kind of creepy and go with a more atmospheric creepy. It's your choice though.

I try to go for a more atmospheric vibe than I would go for something more in-your-face kind of grotesque. Though, I do feel that the the house needs just a slight nudge in the more grotesque direction in some areas to really drive the idea home. I think that a fake of the Mouth of Truth is actually a great idea, though. Since it takes up two spaces, I could potentially make it the centerpiece behind the altar in the chapel. As for the altar itself, does anyone have any ideas as to what would look the most fitting? It should preferably be 2x1 and made of some kind of stone-ish material. Atop it, I had a great idea. Either put an Aries Rocking Chair atop it along side an axe, or just make the Capricorn Ornament my altar. I think that some mythical beast or goddess imagery could go along way in this house.

Alright! I have currently done some more work on my rooms (the upper room is mostly spooky stuff for a placeholder). I have just barely made a dream address so everyone might be able to get a feel for my home. The dream address is 4900-4838-8014. Again, I apologize for any lack of town or home work that is sub-par. It is currently in complete overhaul. ^-^;

Oki, gonna bump this one with some info because I'm really anxious to get the ball rolling when it comes to my house. I added some gyroids to the Ballroom in hopes that it gives the living dead a little more life. On that note, looking for some more rust, drill, and poltergoids. Also, if anyone has some suggestions of outfits for my mannequins, I will love the input there, too. I am currently awaiting Gracie's sale to see if I can get some tuxedos and masquerade dresses.

Edit: Masquerade dresses and tuxedos would do well, but does anyone have the black veil or princess wigs? I feel those would add a lot of personality to the mannequins. The girl dancing with the jester could look more official, while the lass in black could look as if she is attending a funeral. Sort of a poetic elegance, don't you think?

I'm experimenting with making a haunted room in my basement. You can put a ghost mask on your mannequin, although it's very literal.

Yeah, that is a bit too literal for my tastes. I want the feeling of the dancing mannequins to be more atmospheric. Part of me is wondering if this thread is TL;DR for most people. Other people wanting help on their towns or houses usually get a million replies. o.o

Bumping this shiz. To tack on a little more side-info, I am currently breeding black and orange hybrids to line my town with. Sure, it's a little cheesy, but I get the feeling that it will look very cool with the currently orange grass and trees. Again, not pertinent to my house, but I figure a somewhat informational bump is better than just a bump. :P

the prank flooring and wall paper items from halloween are good for the aged and abandoned look. The flooring is a very nice derelict look. using the big picture frames from the museum and some custom patterns will be really good.

Thanks for the input! I honestly know nothing about the frames found at the museum, and the old flooring and wall are great ideas as well. Maybe I will make my left-most room look run-down with those things, and put creepy custom portraits into the main bedrooms or the chapel. I will be updating my dream tonight, so if anyone wishes to look upon the minor changes I have made, feel free to do so. Still looking around for the princess wig and black veil, though.

Does anyone even know what the masquerade dress looks like? I have been time traveling day by day to see if it will show up in Gracie's during her sale. Yet, can't seem to find it nor can I find a picture on the internet. Again, this post is actually a bump. Input from you lovely people is highly appreciated.
