You have a villager move out.
You know precisely when someone new should be moving in.
You make a new character to snoop around and manipulate the new villager's house plot placement.
You cover every inch of your town and find absolutely no plot.
You figure you were off a day.
You restart and get on the mayor character.

And there's a random plot right in the middle of your pathway or flowers.

Those days, you have to save as the new character to lock in the fact that there are no plots. I'm sure tons of people have had it happen.

Yes! That happened to me once TT^TT
There was a plot for an Uchi (the game gave me the 9th villager) and they were constantly changing, from Tammy, to Muffy, to Pashmina. Once it disappeared and I tried again. The plot was there afterwards :/

I started on a new file because I was suspecting that Tangy will move in (camper from yesterday). The first time I checked, no plot. Second time I checked, no plot. So then I loaded my existing first character, luckily no plot.

Weird how they don't appear then pop up randomly...

Oh my, I thought that that trick worked all the time. I am not that into plotting, but for my next villager, I was going to do it. Thanks for letting us know!

That happened to me yesterday,Boomer made a plot right in the middle of the park I was building. It worked before when I forced Marshal into my town.I think I might have did it a little too early the second time though, next time I won't try this until it's past 7:00 AM.Now I just have to move out Boomer and get a better villager that makes a plot out of my way.

I always start me day as a new player, esp since I'm down to 8 villagers. Once I'm sure there's no Nook refugees planning on staying I save, go in as my mayor, save and then wipe out my second player. Is it a wee bit of work - yes - but since the villagers play such an important role in the theme of the town, and the placement of their houses is vital, I think it's well worth it.
