Has streetpass worked for anybody since the update...?

I am curious if any of you are regular streetpassers, and if so, what are your experiences since the update.

For me, pre-update, every Nintendo Zone I stopped at (usually McDonalds, as Best Buys haven't been working for a while, for me, anyways) I would get 6 (on average, though it would vary) other user's miis in my Streetpass plaza, and nearly every time I would meet 1 person from Animal Crossing New Leaf, and their house would then show up in my HHA showcase.

Since the update however, I have met ZERO AC:NL people at Nintendo Zones. I still get the regular 6 for my Streetpass plaza, but nothing for New Leaf. How am I/are we supposed to get the streetpass badge if it's not working???

I would like to note, that it does work, when my DS crosses the path of my friend who owns the game's DS. Just not at the Nintendo Zone spots.

What are everybody else's experiences?

Wasn't Nintendo Zone discontinued or something? I kinda reminder something about that...

mine still work the only thing i noticed i havent grabbed people who hasnt done updates yet so they show me houses who has done the update

Seems like it's fairly confusing. As people used to be able to connect to wifi at a Nintendo Zone, and download exclusive items (at the New Leaf post office in your town). That, was discontinued. However, they've brought it back recently, and had an item available to pickup from like Dec. 14th-Dec.31st, and now they have another item available from Jan. 1st through Jan 14th, and a 3rd item from Jan. 15th through Jan. 31st.

So that portion of it isn't discontinued, but perhaps meeting other New Leaf players & having their houses download to your HHA showcase via Nintendo Zone is.

I tried to google it, and only game up with questions and answers from a long time ago. Nothing new.

(Also keep in mind I am from the U.S. and people in other regions probably have other experiences, as Nintendo offers different regions different things all the time)

Perhaps the problem just might be that NOBODY in my area has done the update? I live in a fairly populated area though, I would think there would be quite a few who've done it by now...

Once Nintendo sent me a home for Happy Home Showcase but I decided to delete it since it wasn't updated for such a long time and only had items which could not be purchased.

The games that were old but updated work fine... but I have 2 new ACNL game cartridges (the ones that come with the amiibo functionality built in) and those are NOT working with Streetpass. It is not the 3DS systems- it has something to do with the software. I have not cracked the mystery yet.

Right, and this works for me, too. Same scenario, two DSs at home, which have two NL cartridges & two separate towns, and they tag each other daily. It's getting New Leaf tags at Nintendo Zones (http://www.nintendo.com/3ds/nintendozone) that doesn't work for me, anymore. I used to get them regularly before the update, and haven't had a single one, since.

This is a mystery... I certainly wouldn't think it was something Nintendo overlooked...? But it must be...? If anything you would figure them to improve or expand ways to get tags...not deplete them. Doesn't make a ton of sense. Hopefully there are answers soon.

Interesting... Where are you from? I wonder if it works in certain regions/countries, but not others?

It works, I live in the middle of nowhere in Australia and I rarely get streetpass hits, I only ever get them when I travel 40mins to the nearest town if Im lucky, and usually its the same person except that one time on the christmas hype, but today I got lucky with someone different and got a balloon too! I've had my 3DS about 5-ish months and only 3 hits, and about 4 hits from the same person.

I'll check this out - have several games (all updated) - & like you the original games are streetpassing with each other fine.
I have one cart with the update inbuilt ie I bought acnl-WA (& I updated it to 1.5) - but I haven't tried to streetpass with my older games - I'll do that (its going to have to be tomorrow, Sat) & I'll post back.

I've streetpassed some people who said had been playing ACNL but they weren't tagged in ACNL per se. I can tag my boyfriend in the game, though, so I don't know what's up. :/

I'm in the UK and i almost never get street passes from Nintendoi Zones now. When i used to get at least 6 Everytime i went to a Nintendo Zone (Mainly McDonalds)

I do streetpass some miis every now and again but no houses pop up

just today I streetpassed two people (from inside my home at the second floor!!) got things for tomodachi life and pokemon shuffle
but nothing for new leaf maybe they don't update their ac copy or simply don't play it
last time I visited Digby I recall he telling me that now the only homes accepted are the one that are updated I'm pretty sure about this!

Hi. I live on an island in the Caribbean due to my job. I go to the nearest Home Depot for their Nintendo Zone access point at least once per week. Whenever Nintendo says there's a special weekend event, I make sure to go. There was one recently from Dec 19th which will last until Jan 16th & a few days ago on Thurs. Dec 29th (just checked the plaza) when I went I got people from a whole bunch of other places and there were a few new homes in the showcase. What I'm not sure of is whether the version was 1.4 or 1.5 on that day. I did download the update when the system told me to, just can't remember the date.Next time I go I'll check the showcase & post.

I cannot vouch for nintendo zones as I do not typically take my ds out of the house but streetpassing with my siblings has worked with ACNL perfectly! Hope you figure out your problem!

I think the last time I was at Best Buy I still got my 9-10 streetpasses, and I'm sure a few of them also played NL. I'm sure there were some new homes. But I never get streetpass items from those, only when i streetpass my siblings at home.

I haven't tried accessing the post office gifts in game in a while because they were discontinued. I also know my nearest Best Buy was going through major renos, so their nintendo zone service rarely works, and I often only get streetpasses on the big streetpass weekends now.

It works, I've gotten a few hits since the update, as well.

If anything, I'd just say it's that fewer people are playing ACNL. I mean, you did say you usually only got one person (or at least?) who played ACNL, it's not like it suddenly died out. Even with the update, the game's a good 3 1/2-4 years old.
