I keep having completely clear nights where I can see the milky way, not a single stray cloud (I double-triple checked) without any shooting stars or celeste?? she's been gone for like a month now. How come she's never around anymore? I feel like when I started playing, there would be shooting stars & Celeste right away on any starry, cloudless nights.

So I saw this tumblr post a while ago showing the page in the guidebook about meteor showers (and rainbows) and unfortunately it seems like we're in a pretty long dry spell for meteor showers. The first couple weeks of the game had the highest possible chance at 4% each night, but now it's not gonna go above 1% again until July.

ooh geez, that makes sense then :/ that sucks, i had one meteor shower after time travelling but i didn't get a single taurus fragment from it, so i guess i just have to hope super hard or TT again

Even when I do have Celeste there it seems a few shooting stats go by and that’s it.

I suggest keeping an eye out for those who have celeste and have a meteor shower going. I've been keeping an eye for those. That way you can get some fragments.

Celeste rarely visits me. Last week I had a meteor shower but only got 4 wishes out of that and they were gone 😑

I haven't had a single meteor shower since getting the game, and Celeste's only visted thrice. Thank the stars for those generous souls online.

Thank you for showing us this. That’s actually pretty useful information to know and be aware of.

I guess the best way to see Celeste and meteor showers is by keeping an eye on the forums and visiting those who have that going on.

When it comes to meteor showers, I've been playing since day 1 and haven't seen one on my main island.

I started a second island this past week (it hasn't been seven days yet) and had a meteor shower on my fourth or fifth day.

I managed to get one single taurus fragment just from getting lucky (If the sky is clear at night you will occasionally see shooting stars, just nowhere near as frequently as during meteor showers) and I haven't seen a clear sky since. Man, Taurus and Gemini fragments are gonna be one of the most expensive items to trade!

Every time Celeste visits, theres a small chance for me to have shooting star. I only had 1 meteor shower and 2 shooting stars and did not get the large or special star fragment, just the basic one, I wish they would increase the meteor shower chance.

Oh wow I did not realize how rare shooting stars were, I had her 3 times in April and stocked up on stars. I hope I see her soon to get her recipes because people ask a lot just to visit their island with her on it to get a DIY recipe.

I had her once and it was with a meteor shower. I also saw a rainbow yesterday though, so I guess that's all my luck this month!

Oof, getting the Gemini fragments is gonna be tough.

Wow that's so infrequent :O I'm going to farm the heck out of the next meteor shower I get (hopefully)

Omg... I literally am praying on shooting stars at a friend's place right now... I'm going to farm the stars so hard tonight if we're getting a dry spell. I've gotten meteor showers twice or three times since launch

Also that's really weird that Celeste has come so infrequently for you. She's come on my island close to 10 times....

Yeah I’ve had her twice before, and last night was the first time I’d ever seen any shooting stars. It wasn’t a full-blown shower, either.

I wonder if the devs intentionally made it so that certain NPCs would be more common for certain players? It seems like there are some people who see Celeste a lot, while others see Redd a lot, etc. I’m sure it’s RNG but I still can’t help but wonder.

EDIT: oops somehow I missed the guidebook post! It’s nice to know that the meteors at least have a set percentage for everyone.

Ive had Celeste a few times, but shooting stars rarely occur on my island! And the last time they did, I didn't earn any star fragments when I wished on 10+ stars. It was honestly pretty discouraging. How am I supposed to make the DIY things if I have no star frags?

this answers my question, i haven’t seen celeste or a meteor shower in a good week :/

A meteor shower or even stray stars? As long as your skies are clear (no clouds) you should be able to get a few stars periodically, even if it's not a full blown shower
